-Taken down to 2 stars due to service.
The food continues to be pretty great quality, no real concerns. However. The service continues to be very questionable. The hostesses being the saving grace of your FOH staff. Every time we come the servers are messing around or talking to each other, delaying everything quite a bit. Now today’s incident really had me astounded. Our server Gina was beyond rude, specifically to me. She would not acknowledge my presence, make eye contact, or speak to me except for taking my order initially. Every time she came around she had her back turned to me and was very enthusiastically engaged with my husband and daughter. She also only asked to fill, and filled my daughter and husband’s water throughout the entire meal, even though my glass was placed on the very edge, completely empty, and I watched as she looked at it multiple times. My family was cracking up because of how blatantly she was blowing me off. Even when she realized it was my card and me who paid, she set it down in front of my husband and told the two of them to have a wonderful day. I could describe the back of her head better to a sketch artist than I could her face. When we return we will definitely not be accepting service from this server.
Previous review: 7/2022– 4 stars Most of the food is really good here. A lot of fun to have with the games, tvs, and pool tables. The service tends to lack. I know they’re going through new hires, but it seems as though staff I’ve seen there for awhile tend to be really slow and ignore tables. Today for example, I ordered a beer and it came up on the bar. The server was standing in front of it for 5 minutes talking to the bartender about nothing important before she then went over to her three other tables, took their orders and then ran my beer over. It also took 15 minutes to get our check. Our server was sitting down doing silverware for over 20 minutes and I kept looking around and making eye contact with her as we needed help and she never got up. Finally flagged down...
Read moreWent in for lunch today and ordered the ham stack sandwhich and tea. My friend ordered a veggie calzone, side salad, and water. The tea was cloudy and old. (the refill on it was so cloudy you couldn't see the ice, the straw or the spoon I used to add sweetener) . When the food arrived my friend was given a garden salad and not the side. The celery and bell peppers had clearly been frozen at some point and thawed out. The celery was soft and turning brown down the middle of the stalk. The calzone was not completely cooked and had raw pizza dough on the inside as well as pieces of ham. (She's a strict vegetarian, hence having ordered a veggie calzone to begin with). The ham stack that I got was dripping brown grease. I ate part but all you could taste in the bread was grease. On the other half of the sandwhich you could see in the amount of grease in the bread. And when it was picked up, the grease just ran out of it. The manager came over to talk to us. We explained what the issue was and she told us that their "fresh produce' does get frozen!! And that they still use it once it's thawed. She looked at my sandwhich dripping grease and told me it was butter.. I've never seen a grilled sandwhich drip brown butter. To me it looked like the grill was too hot and dirty so in order to prevent things from sticking, they were using ridiculous amounts of butter or oil. Either way, the manager didn't look like she cared at all. She came across as if she were put out by dealing with us. She did comp the whole ticket since neither one of us ate hardly anything. And we did appreciate that! But her total lack of care or concern for how product was coming out of the kitchen was very disheartening. This was the 2nd bad experience I've had with the food in this particular location and it will be a while before I'm...
Read moreThe good: 1) My server, forgot her name, was very good. She was attentive, quick, and I didn't have to ask for a drink re-fill, she saw I was running low, and brought me another drink. I really appreciate when servers are attentive to those small details. 2) I ordered the Green Chile Wontons and they were good overall. I'll include my critique of the wontons in the bad section. 3) The burgers were very good sized. I ordered the Mondo Hondo (I believe that's what it was called) and it is a very big burger with two patties. 4) I thought the presentation was decent. However, that is where the good ends.
The bad: 1) I ordered the burger cooked medium but it was closer to medium rare in one part of the burgers and was well done on the other sides of both patties--so it was inconsistent. 2) The burger patties were bland. There was no seasoning at all. 3) The fries were run of the mill and weren't seasoned either. 4) The Coke I had tasted just slightly on the flat side. And finally, 5) the wontons need more filling. Almost all of them had half the filling they should have had.
Now I am ready to say that maybe they just had an off-day and what I experienced is not typical of their food and what it is about. I understand people can have off-days, nobody is perfect.
The server asked me how things were and I said good. I said good because one time, at a different restaurant in another city, I told a server that I thought the food was bad and she became slightly defensive and a tad argumentative. So now I just don't share what I am thinking if the food is below average or bad, because I don't want to make them feel bad or feel offended, like I just insulted their mother.
Overall impression: Well below average and disappointing, especially for the price points at which their...
