Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Laurel

This had to have been one of the worst dining experiences of my life. It began with attempting to use the online ordering system for a curbside pickup at about 8 PM. The system kept rejecting the order for whatever reason. I even tried 2 other cards for payment and it still rejected my order. I called and was placed on hold for quite sometime until suddenly disconnected. I was now at the drugstore picking up some things and once done shopping called back to place my order. It was then explained to me curbside pickup isn't available after 9 PM even though online it shows 9:30 PM OK, whatever just let me place my order. So I order the grilled chicken breast & the Fiesta lime chicken. Upon arrival I walk in the front door to 3 employees dancing around & goofing off, one looked at me and stated "just 1 of you?" I explained that no I was picking up a to go order. He rolls his eyes and said you're at the wrong spot, you gotta go to that kiosk and began turning away from me. I told him I didn't know where that was, I thought I came into the main entrance. Big sigh & then tells me come on I'll take you there. So we proceed to the complete opposite corner of the restaurant and the woman there gives me the total and while waiting for the card process I asked if the time change for curbside changed recently. You would have thought I had insulted her family tree! She told me no, it has always been 9 PM it even says it on the door while pointing at the back door (not the door I came in) and that everybody knows that. I apologized and explained that I wasn't from the area, had never been there before and I was only going by what I was seeing online which stated 9:30 PM she responded with whatever, it's on the door. Pushed the charge slip across to me and dropped a pen by it. I am normally pretty forgiving about things and tip but after all this I just couldn't. I grabbed my food and left. Once back to the hotel opened the food to eat. My first bite was of the broccoli and it was as super salty, to the point I spit it out. After putting better light on the food you could literally see the salt granules very heavy on the entire dish, my wife's dish was the same way. We scrapped off what we could and ate it out of desperation. I would eat a still frozen tv dinner before I would ever set foot in this...

We stopped on the way back home last night. The waitress was on point at first. She took our drink orders. Came back took our appetizer order. Came again and took our meal order. Appetizer came and it was good. We waited for the meal we never received it. Three other groups came in after us. They were seated and meals served. We waited. Our waitress kept asking if we needed anything else. We said we were waiting for our meal three different times. After that our waiter kept by passing us and serving the other tables. I asked another waitress to get our tickets after our waiter didn't come back to our table. The other waitress brought out ticket. We had been charged for 2 meals, that we never received. I explained to her that we only had appetizers and drinks. We asked her to give us a corrected bill. She went and came back and asked, do you want your meat to go. I said no, we just want to pay for what we were served and leave since it had been enough time and 3 other tables that came in after us had received their meals. We got up to go. I waitress came by and I stopped her and asked what happened. She said she didn't know. We got up, the manager came. I explained the situation. I told him we just want to pay for what we received. He said okay. He went to the register to correct the bill. Then he said go ahead, no charge. We thanked him and left. Disappointed at the service between the waitress and...

After speaking with a manager there seems to be high turnover at this location. The foodbis really hit or miss. Servers do not stager their orders as they should resulting In longer wait times for everyone, and you will likely recieve your drink , your appetizers your meal all at the same time. SO pick which one you want ro eat cold. Not a big decision as most of the food comes out luke warm at best. There are a few decent severs but most have no smile and treat customer like they are an inconvenience at best. 1 server was walking through her section and said out loud ...God people are so annoying...great to hear as a guest in that section for sure. Not sure if it is poor management or what but nobody here seems happy. Yes being understaffed means being over worked and that sucks but taking it out on your guests isn't a good way to run a business. Amazingly it is always busy so maybe Mediocre food and poor service with a frown is cool with most people. At the very least try somewhere else, there are lots of great options around. This place is ok but don't expect a good time...
