This is a culmination of experiences with Doña Azucena's Pupuseria in Laurel. I'll start with the good. They are excellent at making pupusas. They're are delicious. They're always fresh and they're not super greasy. Now to the bad, and it outweighs the food quality. I have ordered pupusas amongst other items from this location maybe 6 times in the past 2 months. The location is an absolute mess when it comes to online orders. I can't wrap my head around how orders can come out inaccurate when an online order is placed. The ticket is itemized. It specifically tells you what is on the order. A friend ordered with me at the same time. Our food was ready but missing items. My friends food was never ready. It took an additional 30 minutes to get his order out. Remember I mentioned that their pupusas are excellent. Order that. Do NOT order their carne asada. It was bland, tough and overcooked.
My son just started eating pupusas. He loves his pupusas de queso y frijoles. He wants them every Friday. We placed an online order at 4:44 pm. I show up around 5:25 pm and was told that there is no order for me. Then I was told that their online ordering hasn't been working since 2 pm. Why is it still active? Turn off online ordering and take phone orders. I resubmit my order in person and they take my name and number. I make a quick errand and it's another 35 minutes after the fact. It's 6:22 pm and my order is chillin on the counter. I asked the guy what was the purpose of you taking my name and number and NOT call me when my order was ready? He just laughed it off. I'm not asking for much, just some better customer service. I can't order from a place that is so unorganized like that. Order online at your own risk. Stay away from everything else on the menu. Stick with the pupusas. Place your order over the phone and triple check your...

The good thing was that we got seated immediately and served fast. The food came out pretty quick as well. I was served my favorite drink horchata and I ordered the large, which was a huge bucket! (to me that was great!) I also ordered the refried beans with plantains and they were okay, I could tell the refried beans were old because of how crusty they came out. The plantains were okay, they were simply heated up (and old). They also came with sour cream and onion, versus the standard sour cream we have in Latin American countries.
Finally, the pupusas were okay. These were definitely to order so they were fresh. I order them revueltas and they came with pork and refried beans. I should have driven further down Route 1 to El Comalito, which has in my opinion the best pupusas in the...
Read moreI love eating pupusas from the Doña Azucena brand but this one has poor customer service you guys need more improvement on how to greet the customer and taking them to a table even though it's busy also for the people preping the repoeo stuff in the front of the counter need to make sure they was their hands after handling the cash register I seen a designated dishwashing sink right behind the man with a lot of tattoos on his arm but I didn't see one bit him of him moving towards it to wash his hands also I seen a waiters rub her nose and then touched one of the bowls that had the repoeo stuff I as a manager keep an eye on things when I go to eat in public because I love to make sure my employees from my store are following procedures... Like I said food is great from this brand but I think the Doña Azucena from Silver Spring tops...
