Sweet magnolia’s bakery cafe — Restaurant in Laurel

I went in and bought a few overpriced cookies. That's fine, I knew what I was getting into when I walked into the store. It's a bakery, so I knew they would cost more than Walmart (across the street).

But, then the awkwardness happened.... the girl at the register VERBALLY and loudly asked me "Would you like to tip?" Other customers were standing around, so of course I felt pressured and so dang awkward! I got courageous and replied "no", because let's face it....I was buying an item for a price. I'm breaking off a big chunk of change for these cookies already. I can understand if it was a custom cake, but come on....she literally handed the cookies over the counter.

After I said no to the tip, I was then prompted to leave a tip on the receipt printout. That's when I decided I wouldn't be back.

The cookies were dry and icing was nothing special. Do yourself a favor and go...

I just wanted to thank the staff at Sweet Magnolia's Bakery for the wonderful cupcakes that were delivered to Mr. Billy Joe Pitt's 79th Birthday celebration, on August 5, 2016. I live in New York City and unfortunately, was unable to be there in person, but am being told that the cupcakes were very tasty and were a a real crowd pleaser! I also want to commend Sweet Magnolia's Bakery for having such outstanding customer service!!!! I will certainly use them again, and will make sure to recommend them (especially to my Mississippi friends) to anyone who wants delicious baked goods, along with a wonderful staff to...

Paid $5 for a cupcake size piece of cheesecake and it tasted and smelled like ruined milk! Also paid right at $15 for a lunch special and the bread was so hard and old could barely chew it. We ordered from here 2 days in a row and the staff got orders wrong and were rude and seemed confused about everything. They were out of half the things listed for the daily menu at 9:45 am for the lunch menu. And they had listed things in their Facebook page as having that day and then when we called they said they didn’t have half of the things on the list. Very...
