Definitely one of my favorites down the shore Lavalette/ Ortley area for breakfast! Place is on the smaller side which is the only downside with this place but they also have some seating outside to help accommodate. Staff is always very kind and helpful. Sometimes there is a short wait due to how busy they get but they turn tables quickly which is nice.
Usually go for the traditional pancakes, eggs, bacon, hash browns - which to me is a true test of every breakfast spot! They nail it everytime! Pancakes light and fluffy, hash browns crunchy on the outside and light on the inside and bacon is cooked perfectly right in the middle of crunchy/soft. Fruit bowl is also always very refreshig and sweet.
Not a bad thing to say about the Sand Dollar in my opinion. Also have tried a lot of other things on the menu and can not find a single complaint with this spot! Would also recomend omlets or the french toast! So if you are in the shore points area be sure to stop there for breakfast when ever you get the chance you won’t be dispointed!
Note to owner: 5/5 rating - great service great food...
Read more⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Sand Dollar Pancakes is hands-down one of the best breakfast spots I’ve ever been to! The pancakes are unbelievably fluffy, light, and full of flavor — they really live up to the name. You can tell they use fresh ingredients, and the toppings are generous without being overdone. Beyond the pancakes, the rest of the breakfast menu is just as impressive. Everything we ordered came out hot, fresh, and beautifully plated. The coffee was smooth and strong (a must for me in the mornings!), and the portions were perfect for starting the day satisfied. The staff was so friendly and welcoming, which really added to the experience. The atmosphere felt cozy and inviting, like the kind of place you want to linger and enjoy your meal instead of rushing out the door. If you’re in the area and looking for a memorable breakfast or brunch spot, I can’t recommend Sand Dollar Pancakes enough. It’s the kind of place you’ll want to come back to...
Read moreWhere do I even start with this place. Our food (French toast, pancakes, side of eggs, and a Taylor ham sandwich) took 50 minutes to come out. The table next to us ordered, got their food, paid and left during that time interval. While we waited we had some very watery coffee to tide us over.
My French toast I’m quite certain was wonder bread tossed in some thin egg batter and cinnamon. It was textureless and tasteless. This place seems more interested in churning out a high volume very cheaply than actually making it taste good.
The side of eggs were badly undercooked. The pancakes were hard, and as bland as the French toast (the aunt Jemima syrup they served didn’t help matters). The bread they served the taylor ham sandwich on was dry. Everything about this food was cheap, bland, and had poor ingredients.
Breakfast food is supposed to be rich and flavorful, this meal was the exact opposite....
