Let me start this off by saying I was hungry this morning and decided to give a new place a chance
The food is not bad at all, but the service and the atmosphere leaves a LOT to be desired
Got seated immediately and ordered a chocolate milk and Beefeater sandwich
The sandwich was defintiely solid for what it is. Good flavor, decently tender, good amount of juice
The fries I got with it were thick, fresh and hot, crunchy texture. A solid fry
The milk tasted like it had abuelita chocolate, not complaining at all, it's good, I love that chocolate
But that's not where my issues with this specific location are at: the service, made me feel irritated, multiple times passed by a server or a waiter, after finishing my meal, had to wait 15-20 minutes to get my order taken away after I had finished eating. And keep in mind at this point there was only 3 or 4 tables taken in the restaurant, it was pretty slow, there's no excuse to make eye contact with me MULTIPLE times and seeing my empty plate but you're going to other tables before I had to legit flag someone down to have my order ran through. Even typing this is getting me more and more irritated, unacceptable if you ask me personally
The restaurant itself seems very dated like it needs a revamp or a little TLC to give it a fresh new life and feel. Cause I'm gonna be 100 with you all, while sitting down I felt a little uncomfortable or weird there just cause of how "worn out" the place felt I don't know. I can't put my finger on it
I would personally not go back here. I tried to give it a fair chance, and it didn't leave me feeling very satisfied
Try it if you'd like but I...
Read moreThis place has been around for as long as I can remember and that may just be why it's remained so popular. It's on two major streets and that could help its status. Don't get me wrong, spires is another type of breakfast diner chains that have been around for years. However, it could use some sprucing up for sure. Plenty of parking and good prices. This place can be crowded for breakfast on the weekends for sure. The kitchen bar is one of my favorite parts of the set up. They have a stuff animal game at the entrance for the kids.
I came in the other day by myself for a quick bite for breakfast. I figured this place is supposed to be better for breakfast. Prices were fair and had a good selection of items on the menu. By far the best part was the service. Paulina was awesome, hadn't seen her since high school and she did a stellar job. Super accommodating and checked up on me often.
I got a standard breakfast, eggs, hash browns, toast, and coffee. Can't say the coffee was amazing, standard diner stuff. It's crazy because this place is just down the block from where I live so I would love to come by more often, I just don't. Overall I see why it's stood the test of time, loyalty. I saw the regulars come in and out...
Read moreBreakfast this morning was better than I expected, but still could have been better. There are a few locations all around Los Angeles and I would not classify them as a diner, more as a fast service American restaurant. The best part of the meal was the pricing because it is very fair. There is plenty of seating inside, both booth and counter and parking is very easy and free because it’s attached to a shopping center.
Service was pretty quick for me although it did take quite a while for me to be able to place my food order. I was immediately seated right when I entered and they brought my drinks immediately after being seated. I did have to wait about 10 minutes to place the order, but when the food came it was better than I was expecting. I ordered the Eggs Benedict and even though the hollandaise was a bit watery in my opinion the ham on the bottom was very good and the eggs were cooked perfectly. I got side of avocado and it was not the freshest avocado but I still ate it.
Overall a pretty nice experience although does not really give me the restaurant kind of feel. I would recommend it if you are...
