This is first time Iāve ever left a bad review for a business, but itās necessary. Iāve never experienced a coffee shop with such a bad vibe before. Iām staying in the neighborhood for a few weeks visiting family, Iām walking distance to this location, and have gone 4 times this past week for sheer convenient coffee. Every time Iāve gone in Iāve had a shockingly off putting experience. I will not return after today. Never once has the staff greeted me, they all seem miserable and resentful of their customers. On my first visit, I ordered at the counter. The barista charged me for all sorts of add ons for foam and sweetener that I did not ask for. I could tell that the price sounded high, so when she asked if I wanted a receipt I said yes. I pointed out the extra charges and told her I was confused why she charged me for all these things I didnāt order. She rolled her eyes, didnāt apologize, and said sheād give me a refund for the extra $2 charge. To be honest I was surprised her manager didnāt refund the whole drink, but I let it go and didnāt comment, I took the $2 refund and left. On my next few visits, I ordered from the app and waited by the pick up counter for way too long before anyone would acknowledge me. Not only was I never greeted, but this staff actively avoids eye contact. On todayās visit, I placed an order with a pickup time of 630am. I arrived a little late, at 634am. The drive through was busy, but the lobby door was locked. I could see 5 employees inside, 2 of them were working. I awkwardly stood there waving for a minute. No one would look at me. I awkwardly knocked on the door and one employee looked at me, I think she was the manager. She ignored me and looked down. Then 3 other employees looked at me and turned around to ignore me too. I knocked again. The manager pointed to the drive through line. So I said through the closed door, I walked here and ordered through the app. She said something to the staff. A few seconds later a different employee came to unlock the door. He was obviously annoyed, didnāt look at me once, and everyone inside made me feel completely unwelcome. I immediately said, āIām sorry, Iām so confused. Are you guys only open for the drive through right now?ā The manager glared at and addressed me as if I were her enemy #1 as she responded with, āthe lobby opens at 630. We opened late today at 640.ā Thatās all she said. No apology, no have a nice day. The whole staff made me feel so gross and like I did something wrong. Iāve worked in hospitality, I was a bartender for years until 3 months ago. An hour later and Iām still scratching my head over how the staff at a coffee shop could leave such a terrible impression for no reason. Iām dumbfounded. The vibes here are straight up toxic and Iām better off feeding my coffee fix literally anywhere else other than here. I donāt recommend this location to anyone until they find new...

Unfortunately, I goofed this morning and ordered from the Starbucks location on Hawthorne and 182nd Street. When I arrived at this particular location, I told them my name at the speaker, and the barista verified and told me to pull forward. I pull forward and they inform me they do not have my order. After I check the receipt on the mobile app, I then realize I placed the order at the wrong location.
I apologize to the baristas and ask if they could provide me with the order since I already paid for it at the other location, and had been in line for 30 minutes this morning during rush hour; they then tell me to go to the location on Hawthorne and 182nd and get my order. An obese Latina barista then comes to the window, and with a very nasty attitude tells me I could get the drink, and pay for the pastry I had already paid for at the other location. What sense does that make? Get the drink that I paid for, but pay for the pastry I paid for AGAIN...? Both Latina baristas tell me I can either pay AGAIN or go to the other Starbucks that is out of my way and get the refund/or order.
I admit I am at fault for ordering at the wrong location, and this is not a habit of mine, but when I did it one time before at a different location, the baristas provided me with my order without an issue; I simply showed them proof of receipt, and I was a regular! I left without my breakfast this morning because the line was already long, their attitudes were disgusting, and the last thing I needed was someone spitting in my drink or dropping my pastry on the floor. I called the location on Hawthorne and 182nd to get a refund, and the gentleman I spoke with on the phone told me they were supposed to provide me with my order despite the order goof, and he could not understand why they were being difficult.
I am not a REGULAR at this particular location in Lawndale, but I have been going for about a week or so, and it seems like during each visit there is an issue! I always order on the mobile app, so when I ordered one day this week, all of my items were in stock on the app. I get to the window to pick up my food and beverage and they not only try to charge me AGAIN, but then tell me my item was out of stock, and to get something else or nothing at all. Same thing happened, AGAIN, with the out of stock items, and after choosing something different, they miraculously come out with the item I asked for previously. Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent to the store for quick restroom stop. The restroom was not maintainced and had no toilet paper! When I let them know there was no toilet paper and messy they gave me an attitude and asked an employee to clean it. There is another restroom and these employees refuse to let me use it! Said it was employee only! I'm sorry there is no employees only signage and no Starbucks I been too have ever had their own restrooms! These are for customers and such they should be accepted to enter a restroom if needed.
It's don't end there! The guy to maintenance the restroom returned without washing his hands! There are like 5 people working and u can't stop to wash your hands! So gross!
From the look of the location the boxes of ads and the cabinets doors open u can see the cleaning supplies and on the from counter there where employees information and aprons all over it boxes and used cups with water. This location has been one of the most unprofessional locations I have ever visited.
Next time I'll post photos cause there is no reason any location should ever have employees information out on counters and no reason why employees are working without their aprons and washing their hand every time they are doing maintenance and handling money. I'm sure no one ever mentioned anything like this cause I can't. Tell them been running this location badbly
