Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen — Restaurant in Lawnside

I just absolutely don’t like this place. At allllll. Again, I’m not really a review person but I will write one if it is really really good or really really the opposite and this is ones of those times. Now, don’t get me wrong I love Popeyes food. But this particular one is just horrible to me. I only go to it because it’s the only one I can find near where I live and I’m still new here. Anywho, I occasionally stop here on my way home from school because I get done at 10pm and I’m in school from 9:30am and I’m starving. When I go there, they ALWAYS make me wait outside while they cook my order. It’s never just ready like a fast food restaurant should be. Then one time I ordered the surf and turf and when I got home there was no shrimp in the box. So today I decided to stop there again to get the surf and turf and I told him about the mistake from last time and this time I thought it came with a drink. Well apparently he charged me for it not including the drink and I told him I wanted a drink. He goes “well it’s a dollar more.” I’m thinking I spent money on this food last time and there was NO shrimp at all in my order which I ordered because of the shrimp and on top of that I had to wait outside while you cooked my food and you have the nerve to want to charge me a dollar more for a drink. Unbelievable. Their customer service is horrible and they REALLY need to get it together. I would go somewhere else but that late at night when I get home from school, my options...

It was 10 minutes before closing time. The drive-through was still taking orders. I ordered the chicken sandwich with the spicy sauce in combo with the mashed potatoes and gravy. I think that the order taker wasn't sure if the mashed potatoes were available because he hesitated, but then he verified. I was told that the sandwich would be a 10 minute wait. I was OK with that. I pulled into a parking space, and in about 8 minutes, an employee came to my car window with my order. I have been meaning to try the sandwich for the past year and a half to see what all the fuss was about. I've never liked sandwiches that have something breaded between the bread, because it just seems like a redundancy of bread, but I was surprised at how good this sandwich was. The white meat breast filet had a slightly crunchy coating, and was quite thick enough to stand up to the flavorful brioche style roll. No customer service at all. I ordered through the app, and when I arrived the Manager said they didn't have my order and would have to replace it with another item.

I asked for a refund, and he said I would have to go through the third party Popeyes app for a refund. There was no way he could directly refund me on the spot. I responded saying the app is actually directly from Popeyes, which would indicate that your store is a third party Franchise to which he agreed. I requested an extra item to be made whole from the inconvenience, and all I requested was at least one chicken drumstick, wing, or chicken tender and he REFUSED.

Pretty much said to me we can be here all day talking but nothing can be done. I asked him so you literally cannot give me one piece of chicken, that you will most likely throw out at the end of the night to make me a happier customer for not having the item that I ordered through the app? Again he said no, said he has to count all the chicken at the end of the night....
