The food was decent. Some of which was disappointing only due to personal preferences. The orange juice was full of pulp, of which I'm not a fan, although many people are. The home fries were nice, big chunks of potatoes, as home fries should be. Unfortunately, instead of grilled with butter, they were deep fried, which was disappointing. They also have the skins on. I'm not a fan of skins on my potatoes. My eggs were cooked to perfection. My toast was brown and way too crunchy on the top half but soft and white on the bottom half so I'm thinking perhaps there's an issue with the toaster. The bacon was cooked perfectly but was rather expensive for a side dish. The wait staff was friendly but only checked in once to refill coffee so you pretty much have to go up to the window to ask for anything you need. When paying for my meal, I was charged a couple of extra dollars than what the check showed. When I questioned the waitress about it, she said that there was a charge for using a credit card and that she thought it was 3.8%. I looked around and asked why there was no sign to let the customer know ahead of time about the extra charge and she rummaged through stacks of papers piled up beside the cash register and pulled out a card and turned it toward me to show me the charge. Had the notice been displayed, I would have just paid cash. I don't think it's right that the extra charge for card payments is not posted so customers know ahead of time of the added expense. Overall, the food was okay, the service was friendly but less than adequate, and the atmosphere was small...
Read moreWe were driving a long distance and needed somewhere to stop for dinner. Billy’s had good reviews so we checked it out; it’s about a mile or two off the highway.
Service was great, our server was very kind and friendly, including to my young child. The food was great too: I had a burger which was filling and came on a firm roll (which did not get soggy like a regular hamburger bun), my partner had the haddock which he enjoyed, and our kid got PB and J with French fries. We were too full for dessert, but there were some pies available that sounded delicious. Prices were very reasonable.
The restaurant has some cute vintage or recycled home decor items for sale, and other secondhand things for sale up front.
Overall this was a fun, tasty, and friendly place for dinner! Thank you, Billy’s, for a...
Read moreOne of the waitresses was rude to the other one which seemed younger and maybe new at the job. They brought us the wrong appetizer and I told them immediately. They took it to the kitchen then brought it back out to the people sitting behind us and they said they wanted it remade since it was already taken to another table and they did not remake it. The same rude waitress had an attitude with a gentleman because he asked when his food would be coming since his wife already got hers and was almost finished with her food. I will never...
