CAFETERIA Food Hall — Restaurant in Lawrence

Friday night I decided to come try this food hall with and invited a group of friends to come with. I tried the mixed mofongo and it was so good I highly recommend it!

The only thing I was really disappointed about was the bar service. We’re completely new to this food hall so didn’t know how it worked, but then a bartender told us that we could sit and she will send a server to take our drink orders and we told her we will be sitting outside. Minutes passed as we were sitting outside and no server came to take our drink orders.. and there was a server outside serving the other outside tables but wouldn’t take ours. We would call her over and she kept purposely ignoring us.. and even when new people would show up and sat outside the server would take their order but still ignore us. I just thought that was very unprofessional. We decided to go up to the bar and just grab our drinks at the bar and bartenders would see us and would ignore us just like the server when we were clearly in front of her face and she saw us but ignored us many times. We stumbled upon this spot after our original choice was closed—and I’m so glad it was! This place is an absolute hidden gem, and I’ll definitely be coming back.

Parking was easy, and I loved the outdoor seating area—especially with the fun music playing in the background. What makes this place even better is that there are six different restaurants to choose from under one roof. Just sit wherever you like and a server will come over. Easy and casual. Super easy, no fuss.

We started with the chicken and fries appetizer, and wow—it was massive and packed with flavor! It was so satisfying, we ended up skipping the main course because we were full. The drinks were also amazing—my friend and I were seriously impressed.

We found the Cafeteria Food Hall accidentally and had a wonderful experience. There were so many delicious options that it was difficult to choose our meals. The menus are printed in both English and Spanish, giving descriptions of each dish. There are several restaurants here plus a bar in a shared space with tables. Very clean and comfortable! We chose Columbian from Juan Parrilla Express and it was amazing. The host of the Cafeteria was called over to help with my order because of my gluten allergy (Celiac's). The food arrived quickly and was delicious, with very generous portions. The host was extremely gracious in helping us and couldn't have been kinder.
