CROWN CHICKEN AND GYROS — Restaurant in Lawrence

THE WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE! First of all, I walk into the place and the store manager is upfront condescending and insulting me to my face because my grubhub order didnt go through. instead of being helpful, he treated me poorly. As a white lady walked in, he was very nice to her and treated her with alot of respect. I characterize this as racism and im deeply offended by this experience. second, the food was overpriced and mediocre at best. The chicken tenders were dry and I wasnt even given a dipping sauce which comes complementary with fried chicken in all restaurants. The cheese fries were stale and had about 1 spoon of melted cheese over a full plate of fries which was absurd. the buffalo chicken wrap was falling apart and overly seasoned. The food quality and the service was TERRRIBLLLEEE! AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! Never coming...

Food is ok but arrives on the colder side. I've ordered twice and both times provided clear delivery instructions but delivery somehow takes longer than it should. Also, on my last order I ordered online and was given a total price only to be charged a different amount by the establishment. I was charged more than double for chicken wings as a "custom amount". Additionally, I ordered an orange soda and received a coke. Not sure I'll order again ... details matter and you certainly shouldn't overcharge your customers. Looking for late night food on my way home from a distant event I found myself pulling into Crown Fried Chicken and Gyros in Lawrence. Having never been here before I was exited about finding fried chicken at this late hour. The gentleman who attended to me, the owner I believe, was quite friendly and helpful. The chicken was most excellent; crispy outside, tender and juicy inside- and flavorful throughout. I learned a little bit about what it means to be “halal” too.
