I ordered pickup from here for the first time after living in Lawrence for some years. I was sadly very disappointed. If you are looking for a from-scratch pizza, or at least one made in a brick oven or similar, this place just will not work.
Food: I got a large pizza with 2 toppings. This came to $23.99. Their large pizza is 14" which is on the smaller side. The pizza itself had thick, greasy cheese on top, almost no tomato sauce as the base, as the dough/crust were possibly pre-made or frozen dough based on the texture and greasiness. The toppings looked equally sad. The mushrooms looked as though they were from a jar or some storage, and the beef looked dry and as tiny specks. The slices of their "large" pizza stand straight on their own without bending. Let that be something to ponder. I wish I could say something nice about the food, but it just is not good. If you want this quality of pizza, you can get it cheaper or more for your money from Pizza Hut or Domino's.
Service: As I did pickup, I cannot really rate service. The gentleman who quickly gave me my order was going about his business as usual. He got to me and handled my pickup quickly.
Atmosphere: Again, as I did pickup I cannot fully rate this section. I would give it a lower score as nobody was there dining in, and nobody seemed to be picking up orders either on a Saturday evening. Interior is outdated, but gives that old pizza parlor appeal, perhaps. Think of an old late 90s Pizza Hut's interior for how it looks and feels.
Overview + Better Recommendations: All-in-all, if you are looking for good pizza and possibly dining or other food, I would recommend Salvatore's down the road, or Amici's a bit further east past the railroad. For the same or sightly more in terms of price, you will get substantially better pizzas and of a larger size.
Salvatore's offers a large (does not specify online, but from my many orders it is largher than 14") starting at $18. Great options for other food and dine-in.
Amici's offers 18" large pizzas, as well as custom shaped pizzas. Large will start at $19.10. I have noticed their tomato sauce base has a bit of flavor...
Read morePut in a delivery order for a medium pizza with 3 toppings which came out to $14, the woman I ordered with said there was a $20 minimum for deliveries, that seems reasonable. Made it a large and the price of the order more than DOUBLED to $31 NOT EVEN INCLUDING TIP. They said it was supposed to arrive in 30-45 minutes, mind you, the drive from them to my apartment is only 7 minutes. Not only did the pizza come late, but it was cold when I received it, and even if it did come hot, this pizza was definitely not worth 30 bucks. Itâs an average sized and average tasting pizza with nothing special about it. Called back to ask for a refund because I just paid a whopping total of $36 total for a COLD pizza and they wouldnât refund me unless I BROUGHT IT BACK. They just blamed their driver and called it a night. SUPER disappointed with the food and customer service, ruined what was supposed to be a nice treat for us, will definitely not...
Read moreTried a new pizza place in Lawrence this past weekend called âPronto pizzaâ ⌠it was excellent.. good sauce, generous with cheese and toppings, not at all sweet and they make stuffed crust(which I got).. they brush it with garlic butter and add grated cheese. I got onion rings too and even with delivery they arrived hot crispy and fresh, not soggy at all (which happens often with other places).
The food was a little pricier than your average pizza place, but I didnât mind, you get what you pay for.. they use high quality ingredients and really take pride in their work .
I hadnât heard of it before and honestly I only decided to try it because I had a great coupon.. so glad I did! Iâm definitely going to order again in the future and am looking forward to trying other menu items.
Highly recommend it! Theyâre on DoorDash and...
