Fair but honest. Starting of with the good things. The staff in the front we're great! The gentleman who takes the orders is professional and checks up on customers in his down time to ensure customer satisfaction. Also the interior of the building is moderately clean and decently decorated. Now the upsets. I ordered the quesabirria plater which includes rice and beans and the carne asada fries with the chips and queso as well. The food came out in an appropriate time after I placed my order. I in no ways tend to be overdramatic or "mean", but given my background I am confident in the quality of my reviews in Mexican cuisine. The beans and rice lacked flavor entirely. The carne asada on the fries also lacked adequate seasoning the guacamole had turned slightly dark from sitting out and the only thing that was decently flavored was the queso from the chips that's not made by the cooks. The quesabirria themselves were seasoned moderately but still lacked traditional flavors. The consomé was generally flavored not too spicy and helped elevate the tacos in palatable taste. In conclusion the food isn't "authentic" like it states on the sign. It's unfortunate when the staple foods from a Mexican restaurant that are the bases for multiple meals aren't great, but for those in a rush and don't care about paying slightly high prices for okay Mexican food, it's not a terrible choice. Though you may benefit from waiting a little longer or paying the same price at a different location for higher quality food. I now this place is fairly new so I hope in the future they can slowly work on achieving high quality food. I hope this...
Read moreI was excited to learn about the Taco Tuesday special and the variety of meats available. I explained to the young ladies what i wanted, showed them the flyer and asked to see what the mini tacos looked like on the menu for reference. They showed me and rang me up. Instead of being charged for the deal i was charged for the standard price. When i looked at the receipt I addressed the discrepancy, the young ladies told me that thats what i asked for standard with a passive aggressive tone and irritated body language when I told them that was incorrect information. The owner Ty expressed he can give me a refund and ring it up correctly for the deal, and the money would return back on my card at close of business. 2weeks later in the money still has not been returned and the owners have refused to speak with me about the matter directly. I offered the solution of just making the tacos again for what i was charged or a cash refund via whomever answers the phone that day. Just to be clear, it wasnt tacos for just myself but for 4ppl. The food was good! But i will not be returning due to the server’s attitude and the owners lack of accountability and resolution...
Read moreLet me first start with the good. The hot salsa was amazing honestly one of the best I have ever had. The regular salsa tasted like cilantro flavored tomato sauce. However, when you order it they give you about a shot glass worth of it not exactly sure why. If it's a cost thing I will gladly pay extra for that salsa. I ordered the asada fries which many of my friends raved about and was pretty let down. The meat was gristly and I don't belive it was dressed properly. Historically the meat is to be marinated this had almost no flavor at all. This could be due in part to no marinade or that it was cooked to the consistency of shoe leather. The cheese was out of a bag and melted under a heating lamp so it was a solid chunk of rubber. The guacamole tasted fine but I could see that it was squeezed out of a bag onto the fries. The staff was helpful, polite, and professional so between the staff and the hot salsa that's why I gave them 3 stars. Some minor updates to fresh ingredients would absolutely bump them to 4 or 5. Still some of the best Mexican I have found in lawton but I will say the bar here is so...
