NO SMOKING. Who could possibly give this restaurant a bad review? I've been eating here for about 10 years now, so it's about time I write a review. In my opinion they're the best Korean restaurant in town out of about 3 or 4 other local Korean joints I've tried. They're also my 2nd favorite restaurant in town (after Kobe) but who has that kind of money? For a sit down restaurant, The Junction is very affordable. Expect between $10 and $15 per person, depending on appetite and drinks. They provide the usual salt, pepper, soy sauce, hot sauce, etc., along with a BUNCH of little side-appetizer things including kimchi and various veggies that comes included with your entree. The drinks- they come in ice cold cans that you can pour into a provided cup filled with ice. Sure, free refills would be nice but this way you get much cooler, fresher, more concentrated soda that isn't all watered down. I don't think I need to mention this, but their bulgogi is stellar. So stellar that I've hardly even bothered to order anything else- and I'm the type of person that always wants to try something new. It's that good. Their yaki mandu (appetizer) is my girlfriend's favorite. If you're REALLY hungry and want to try something hearty, check out the Tim Special. It's basically spicy, ultimate fried rice with eggs on top and just about every kind of meat you can imagine.
They have 2 pool tables, a TV, a jukebox, and a nice, warm atmosphere and feel, despite what you'd expect from the slightly shady location outside. Let it be known that there is NO SMOKING INSIDE THE JUNCTION WHATSOEVER. By far the most memorable aspect of the restaurant (besides the food) is the owner, Moses, who seemingly runs the show every night that they are open. He definitely challenges the preconceived notions of how a manager/owner should act, which I like. (Some old-timers might not, but give him a chance.) New customers may be thrown off or even offended by Moses' deadpan humor and the fact that you can never quite tell if he is serious or not; however, let me assure you that he is very dedicated to his customers and providing quality service and food. If he comes across and rude or repeats your order back to you incorrectly, I can almost guarantee he's pulling your leg. Oh, and...
Read moreI think we went there like 3 weeks ago,Wanted to tried this place since we just got to this town and we love to eat different types of food some times. And it was extremely disappointed. I just got a surgery done so I constantly have to be drinking a lot of water. I had my bottle with me and put it on the table and a lady I think she was the owner or the manager and told me to put it away or hide it because she wasn’t allowing drinks from outside at the restaurant I told her it was water and that she could check it to confirm it was only water and told me that people normally put alcohol on their bottles and that’s why she needed me to get rid of my bottle, my husband wanted to leave because it was getting uncomfortable and they didn’t even have the drink he wanted to get anyway. They only sell beers and he wanted Soju anyway, We Order some rice, yaki mandu and I wasn’t that hungry so I got a chicken empanada. Yaki mandu was ok, it was overcook but still taste ok. Then my empanada when I was ready to eat I cut it in half and it was still frozen from inside. I don’t remember if she said they would make another one or if the will refried that one but by that point I was already fed up with the place. The server was actually nice and friendly, it was sad because we were really excited about this place because of all the good reviews. I normally try to give places a second try because sometimes business are going through a tough time but I’m definitely not sure if we will come back here. The place definitely looks clean and it has beautiful decorations inside but definitely not a great experience...
Read moreI have eaten at The Junction for over 10 years, and it has been THE spot for some of Lawton’s best Korean cuisine. Recently, the Junction has come under new management, and I have spoken to a few people who have had understandable concerns. After speaking to the new owners and trying the food, I am happy to alleviate those concerns. The owners are amazing people who want to keep the original feel and menu of the Junction, while breathing new life into the building and expanding the menu to include some new items. The cornerstone of the menu, the Bulgogi (my opinion) remains the absolute same, in other words… incredible. You still can’t beat the Kimbap and Odeng (Personal Favorite / also called Fish Cake). But you’ll also see a new item or two on the menu as well. I suggest the Beef Empanadas. The flavor packed meet encapsulated in that soft dough… it makes a great start to a meal or something perfect to take home after your done. The building itself has also received a coat of fresh paint, literally. With some more space freed up, a new coat of paint on the ceiling, and some new lighting, the inside just feels more open and fresh. In all, I loved the old Junction and will personally miss Moses and his wife. But, I can happily say that The Junction under new management will remain one of my top Go-To’s in...
