Selina Professional African Hair Braiding — Local services in Lawton

I recently discovered Selina Professional Africian Hair Braiding & Weaving online using Google Maps for the first time & was pleasantly surprised. I was very happy with my hairstyle upon completion. The particular style I chose cost me $250.00 & was worth every dime!

Selina was very Friendly, Professional & Fast. (It wasn't a "rush job" fast... She's just efficient & good at what she does. Most importantly, she made sure she didn't braid my hair too tight. I didn't leave with a severe headache, or need pain killers after she had finished. Not were the braids too loose either. (I didn't wake up with some braids laying on the pillow, or finding some on the ground the next day!)

Selina made sure I was happy with her work before leaving her shop. She patiently answered all of my questions & enlightened me on the difference between the different hair types & which type my hair was. She said to make sure to reach out should I have any problems or concerns, or additional questions before my next scheduled time for a redo. I highly recommend anyone who wants braids or weaves to patronize Selina's.

Also, before I left, I had the opportunity to meet one of her long time customers. The other customer told me that she has had Selina as her Stylist for quite some time & has never been disappointed. She said that Selina is her "go-to spot" period. I was able to see the work Selina did on that customer & IT WAS VERY GOOD & that customer said she was very happy as well with her hair-do!

So, I give Selina Professional Africian Hair Braiding & Weaving two thumbs up & 5 Stars... Her shop may be small, but she's gives huge...

Although Selina was nice during my visit, she did not meet my expectations for my first time. Made an appointment for 2pm for some starter locs for my birthday. I arrived on time and was told to return 2hrs later due to another costumer being in the chair. So I left no big deal i can run some errands until then. I get back her shop at 4:15 just to sit for another 2hrs.

Now at this point I could have just left but its almost 6:30 on my b-day and I still need something done, plus not tryna find someone else and still have to wait. We start and I'm excited for the next 3hrs just to be disappointed. I should've just got some single braids cause this ain't it. So now its 10pm I'm not showered,dressed and I'm hungry af not to mention I have white locing residue all my head looking like 😐 😑 ok ima just go to bed. Yea b-bay...

First time customer. I wanted to give this place a try because of the good reviews. I live out in the middle of nowhere in Altus. My options are pretty limited. Maybe I should have just made a trip to Dallas or something. I wouldn’t recommend for a sew in. It isn’t made clear that Celine doesn’t style it for you (flat iron, add layers, etc.). She detangled my curly bundles and attempted to blend my leave out. The end result wasn’t appealing at all.

I tried to put my hair in a ponytail for work this morning and it’s lumpy and not flat. I really don’t like writing bad reviews. But if something isn’t your forte/strong suit, you shouldn’t offer it. People work hard for their money. Standards wise, what I got isn’t what I’m used to nor do I feel...
