I have had the absolute pleasure of eating at this establishment since the ripe age of 3, and even began working here at 16. Now being 20, I have watched this place age and grow and prosper and excel. From smoking to non-smoking to adding new items to the menu, this restaurant has changed miraculously. Let me give you a little behind-the-counter insight into Homer's. The burgers are NOT frozen. It is fresh, raw meat, separated into patties. The soda machine, tea dispenser and anything holding liquid are throughly cleaned and sanitized daily. The wait for your food is a little hefty at times, only because A. They are not a fast food restaurant, they are a diner. Everything is cooked, hot and fresh, to every order, and B. With seated customers, outside customers, drive-thru customers and orders that are phoned in, the amount of tickets become asstounding. Be patient and wait your turn in life. I promise it's worth the wait. The chili, meatloaf, and cinnamon rolls are just a few of the homemade items. Yes, the store is a little out dated and aged, but i think it adds character. The waitresses have been there for upwards of 20 years or more and are dedicated to the Homer's way of life. Those of us who work/have worked at Homer's can tell you it's not just a job. The love you develop for the history and meaning behind this restaurant is amazing. So come in! Have a cheeseburger and some onion rings, or a giant Homer's Classic and an order of fries. Try some mozzarella sticks or fried mushrooms. Or have a piping hot Chicken Fried Steak Dinner with mashed potatoes and a veggie! And have a slice of pie from Golden Boy Pie Co. or a delicious chocolate malt for dessert! Make Homer's your home away...
Read moreWe thought we would check out Homer's drive in. Very sorry we did. The waitress barely acknowledged our existence. We sat down at a dirty table. All the tables were dirty. This was the least dirty. We sat there for a good 8 to 10 minutes before anyone came to the table. This was at 1:00 in the afternoon and there was only one other table that was already eating. She didn't look at us when she brought the menus, because she was speaking to someone across the room. Asked if we were ready to order. Took our order. Brought our food didn't ask if we needed anything else at any time. We were there for 45 minutes. After we were done eating we waited over 10 minutes for our bill. I already had my card on the table ready for her to just take it. It took over five minutes for her to tell me to meet her at the register. However the waitress was very friendly to obvious return customers. The hamburgers themselves were okay, however the buns were on the stale side. The burgers were very small for the price. You have to pay for any extras such as lettuce or tomato. All sides are a la carte, The fries were good. The homemade coconut cream pie was passable. Very thin. The overall restaurant, and the restrooms, need a good scrubbing, top to bottom. It's decorated very cute. However, it is just extremely dirty. Even the squeeze bottles for ketchup and mustard...

Customer Service = TERRIBLE and LACK OF COMMUNICATION
Let's just say we had to lead the way to order. Waitress first brought us menus and waters that have been SITTING OUT on their counter for who knows how long before we walked in. She also didn't ask us about anything at that moment, like if we would like a drink, had any questions or anything for that matter... when she was ready for us to place an order, she walked over and stared at us later like we were just supposed to know what she wanted. We knew she was waiting for us to order as she held her guest sheet and pen in her hand for orders without asking us. We had questions, and she seemed like she didn't even want to answer it because we should know or something.
Atmosphere - if you like Coca-Cola, they have plenty of decor, and it's cool!
Food - It was meh. The burger wasn't terrible, and the fries were plain as plain could get and seemed slightly undercooked.
Restrooms- TINY
Will we return or suggest it to others? Absolutely NOT!
Sides come separately for those who still decide to go. My girlfriend and I shared a side of fries and ordered our own burger. The burgers came out well done, as I would've ordered it but she didn't ask how we would like it cooked, so be sure to tell them when ordering since they don't ask...
