National Fred Harvey Museum — Attraction in Leavenworth

If you have studied Fred Harvey or read any books on his life this is a fun visit. The carriage house has volumes of history and in the glass cases there is historical memorabilia. The house is undergoing restoration. It is easy to get a tour from one of the volunteers. You will just need to plan a couple of days in advance. Call the phone number on the website and they will get back to you to arrange a time. We had a private tour of the entire home. They have a lot of work to bring the home back to its grand days, but they have done so much with it thus far. I really enjoyed seeing the home and learning interesting facts about the Harvey family. They are permanently closed. We drove all the way down there to find that out. Real bummer! The outside of the house was beautiful though! Lol!
