UPDATE: this place is the exact same, busy as ever, attentive and caring servers, everyone busts their butt around there! The owner Mary still makes her whimsical appearance making contact with everyone at least once. The food still did not disappoint one bit. Leavenworth is really lucky to have The Depot in their town. Our waitress Last Name was French, the whole experience here is just incredible! If there's a wait - it's worth it! Call on the way their and at least get your name on the list. Thanks again for that tip Mary!

If you're lucky enough to find this gem, and you live an hour away, IT'S WORTH THE DRIVE! We were greeted by one of the owners Mary (mind you it's very busy and maybe about 1130am), wait wasn't too terrible, plus it was building up our suspense to say the least, we were called then seated by Mary who told us both breakfast and lunch are available and Laci would be our waitress (who was spectacular btw!) Photos entail a tenderloin sandwich with sub sweet potato fried (upcharge $1), and I got the infamous smoked chicken/sweet potatoes Benedict. Smaller portion than i expected but it filled me up just perfectly and not so overbearingly full. Eggs were cooked perfectly (for me at least, exactly how I wanted them). I didn't really see or taste a whole lot of caramelized onions, kinda short on the hollandaise sauce, I did request more (upcharge $2) but let me tell you what, it is hard to find a good hollandaise sauce, and I was incredibly impressed with theirs and had to ask for morr! Sweet taters were amazing with this benedict. The tenderloin tasted super good (gotta have ranch naturally) 😋 even tho it's about an hour away, and even with my minor discrepancies with the dish, they'd still get 6 stars+ if I could grant them. Hospitality and great tasting food was top notch, the whole place ran like a well oiled machine even with what appeared to be chaos on account of how busy it was! So glad we made the drive, met one of the owners and had Laci as our waitress! Will...

Multiple people told me to come down here and check out The Depot. I figured it was just some hype, but let me tell you... the hype is real!

From the door to the table, and back out again, the service was excellent. Our server was polite, knowledgeable on the menu, and even interacted with the kiddo well. He even sold me on the special -something I rarely order.

The food was excellent. I had the spicy chicken sandwich and fries. Make sure you get the optional seasoning on the fries -YUM! The chicken was perfectly fried -juicy, and not too crispy on the outside. The complimentary topping some people normally toss aside we're also fresh and presented well.

My wife had the biscuits and gravy with bacon and eggs over medium. Now and over medium egg is not hard to cook, but is the most common breakfast item that gets done wrong (yolk overcooked, egg white runny, etc.) Not at The Depot. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the bacon semi-crispy and the biscuits were fluffy and tasty. The only negative thing she had to say was the gravy seemed a little dry, but overall she enjoyed the meal.

Lastly, the kiddo had the pancake with bacon and egg from the kids menu. Again, bacon and eggs were spot on, and the pancake was gone in no time. The waiter offered strawberries, blueberries, or chocolate chips. The kiddo favored the strawberries, and consumed the whole meal. Not something our 4-year old normally does.

Anyway, we'll be going back soon. I highly...

The Depot is a gem, and we’re so grateful to have it nearby. Not only is the food on point, but the atmosphere and service are hospitality and comfort at its finest. Today for Mother’s Day they were slammed. I mean, packed. As a Momma, I and my husband and kiddo knew we’d have a long wait, but man, was it worth it. Today and each time we visit the owner Mary is busting her bum to greet everyone, make sure all is cared for, ensure customers are happy, and still manages to treat her staff so well. Impressive! Even at their biggest turnaround/ crowd today, the food was absolutely delicious and service impeccable. I learned that someone gave them a 1-star review today on Google because of the wait. Wow, seriously? It’s a perfect sunny day and Mother’s Day with a jillion people here. What were they expecting?

Also, Mary is a mom of three and she’s spending her day making all of us happy. On top of this, she even bought beautiful fresh flowers for her Mom patrons today. Some can simply not be pleased.

For all the rest of us, The Depot is a gift to Leavenworth with great food, price points, service and atmosphere. You’ll...

Family owned and operated, this local diner is a jewel in Leavenworth! I have been here to eat since 2009...BREAKFAST that can't be beat! The breakfast menu is great. Complimentary muffins that melt in your mouth. Bottomless hot coffee. A variety of options for every taste. Prices are fair and, for the average person, portions will be leaving you full with a take-out box. Try the smoked corned beef hash melts in your mouth with a hint of delicious smokey flavor...add a little hollandaise and it becomes decadent! They have a great selection of burgers and sandwiches that are tempting, along with some hearty salads and side options. As the name implies, "The Depot" is in a quaint old railroad depot. Decor is "country train station" that reminds one of a Cracker Barrell, but without the commercialism... plus the food is way better. Service is friendly, fast and be prepared to meet members of the family that own it. Military discount with a valid ID. Group dining and private rooms available. A great place for business breakfast, luncheon or an evening "Hail and Farewell."
