Good food, slow service, and moving booths. The food is excellent. We ordered "shells" (calzones) and breadsticks. The atmosphere is small but quaint, but the booth backs move when you sit back or the person behind you does, creating a weird dynamic between you and the table behind you. Both booths backs at our table did this. For our experience, the service times unnecessarily long... I think our waiter waited to put our breadstick order in, but didn't mention this to us, just kept telling us they'd be there any second... I arrived twenty minutes before my partner, ordered bread, and told the waiter I'd wait for my partner to order. When he arrived and we ordered, we asked about the bread. Twenty minutes later and right before our shells arrived, there they were, the timing seems remarkably akin to an order being placed when prompted by us asking about them and him then putting the order in. Could be lack of experience? Did he misunderstand me as wanting to wait for the bread? He was a nice kid and was new to serving. But, we went to eat because we were hungry. Considering the higher menu prices at this establishment and the higher quality food, I'd have preferred to know he held my order for my partner or forgot to put in the order rather than anticipating food would arrive any second. For the higher menu prices at this restaurant, it's not expensive to be honest. My many years of restaurant experience tells me he was trying to cover for himself. If it was indeed a slow kitchen, he would've been the one coming to...
Read moreGot two "Shells" with the wife while in town. These are basically calzones. No problem. Did not see prices online and didnt think to ask... how much could it be anyhow? Well, upon arriving, food was ready and total was just under 30$! This would not be an issue if they were adult sized meals. These were basically a mini pizza folded in half. The flavor was good, however, there was little cheese, sauce, and other ingredients. Sausage in mine tasted exactly like frozen pizza sausage with 0 personality. I suspect it's frozen bags of sausage crumbles. Wife said her one or two mushrooms tasted canned even though website implies they are fresh. Overall, service was solid, food was just ok, and the value was absolutely terrible. We didn't even get the pickle it said came with it on their website. They did include a .25 cent bag of Ruffles. Yipee!!! I felt ripped off and a fool upon seeing tge Saturday special of an xl pizza and stix for 22$. This would have been 2-3 × the amount of food, and not all just bread, for less money. I may go back and try the pizza. I want to give them a fair chance. 2 things- I'm an excellent cook so I am harsh but truthful. 2nd-I think this smaller town hasn't tried too many pizzas in their day. Fully explained breakdown- one star off for value, one for food being mostly bread, one for no prices on menu and no pickle and offensive bag of...
Read moreUsually we order from here always great food and service we always leave a tip about 12%. This time I was in a hurry to feed my kiddos before work and I was picking up and gas prices are still high so I didn't leave a tip. I orded a chicken bacon ranch 16" and a half pepperoni and half sausage 16" with 2 orders of breadsticks, first the price came to 43.00 and some change. Second when we got the order we looked and the pepperoni was mixed with the sausage on one half and left the other half just cheese. Third, our chicken bacon ranch pizza hardly had any toppings for the price and i had to add my own to it. Forth, the breadsticks were awesome. Not saying it was because I didn't leave a tip for picking up my order but when we got there to pick it up the business wasn't busy at all. no excuses. You want customers but we probably won't be ordering here at...
