Really loved the breakfast crepe and aloha crepe. The crepes are very legit. Thin and tender just like they’re supposed to be. Only good crepes I’ve had at a restaurant/cafe in Nashville area. Good as a limited menu breakfast spot.
The experience today was super positive - service was good, ambiance was good.
One thing I wish this place had was hot teas other than chai. My husband is a coffee snob and loved the Americano.
On my only other visit I had the goddess Demeter bowl and it was something that had potential but kind of failed on the final execution. All parts of the ingredients were done well, but it was so loaded with chipotle mayo which was just the wrong flavor profile for the other ingredients, and just so much of it, that it was almost inedible. Would have been better with maybe a goddess style dressing and less of it. On that visit the atmosphere was incredibly awkward due to the small size of the single room and the lack of music. Felt like I walked into a meeting where I didn’t belong. It seems to struggle to have an authentically welcoming atmosphere. I’m sure with time they will find their groove.
I think this place is very close to being good, rather than just...
Read morePlaced my order according to what was on their posted menu on the wall. When it was rung up, the price was 20% higher. I questioned the price and the cashier's response was, "That's what's on the register." Since she did nothing about it, I had to point to it on the menu, many times. Finally, she got someone else involved, who then got someone else involved, who then got someone else involved. The final person then told me "THIS time I'll charge you that (amount posted on the menu)", as if she was doing me a favor to correctly charge what they have posted. It was a long wait to obtain the small order. It tasted good, yet not really worth the hassle or the time. And I don't do business with people who charge prices other than what they have posted, waste my time correcting it while giving me an attitude about it, don't acknowledge the time I waited for the correction, and don't thank me for...
Read moreI came in to get a crape but apparently I was a little bit too late and they don't make crepes after 2:00 PM. So I had to settle for a chicken salad croissant which was dry and overpriced the sandwich price was equivalent to what you pay at J Alexander's but I had to eat on a cardboard plate with a plastic fork. The owner recognized that I didn't eat my sandwich and asked why when I didn't really want to answer she insisted but then never did anything about the fact that I didn't like it. Expensive considering there's no proper plates or silverware. If I'm going to do New York style deli ordering and eat on paper and plastic and nothing will be done about a inferior food product I expect the price to reflect this. After all if I didn't like my sandwich at J Alexander's I would have gotten another one for free or I wouldn't have had...
