This place was great! The atmosphere was unique, as it is housed in a historic building in downtown Lebanon, and is surrounded by many other boutiques and places of interest as far as shopping for unique gifts (2 of our party were from out of town and found some great souvenirs to take home).
The service was fantastic, and I'm only sorry I didn't get our server's name, she was the best!
The food was delicious; in our party of 4, we had the "Humpty Dumpty" burger, the "Tres Carne" and the "Club Wrap". Each was well prepared and it was neat to have the option of fries or tots in a nice restaurant. The person who had the Tres Carne said the barbeque sauce was amazing!
It was priced on the "high end" of average ($11.00 for The Humpty Dumpty burger: 1/2 pound beef, fried egg, lettuce, tomato, pickle, & onion, $13 for the Tres Carne and $12 for the wraps), and we only say that it was this because we are very frugal.
It was also nice to have the option to put our own condiments on at the table, as many places over do those.
It wasn't crowded when we arrived, but that was at opening, and it did get pretty busy about 15 minutes after opening (11:00 am open). It died down a bit by about 12 pm, then picked back up again around 12:20 pm. So it was pretty consistent on patronage.
I did notice that this place might not be overly well situated for those with physical handicaps, as the paths were narrow between tables and I did not see how a wheelchair could maneuver well, as I use a cane and have to be very careful navigating as I have depth perception issues, and the floors were quite uneven, as to be expected in a building that old. I would call ahead to see about accomodations if you use assistive devices, I'm sure they can help!
The only 2 things that would have been nice to know ahead of time would've been 1) which direction the restaurant was on, as the sign was a bit hard to locate from the road and 2) to know that the road where it is situated is on a traffic circle, which can be daunting for those not used to them. Those were very minor issues compared to how much we enjoyed our experience!
We definitely plan to going again when we come in to Lebanon in...
Read moreThis place has great food and a great environment, but some of the least professional customer service that I have ever experienced.
My friend and I came for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon and the restaurant was pretty busy. No big deal. The couple in front of us at the host stand was told that they couldn’t be sat because they only had a 4 person table and did not want to only sit two people there. The man turned around, frustrated, and asked if me and my friend would mind just sharing the table with them, to which we said yes because we just wanted to be sat. We thought it was strange but we made it work and even made friends with the people we sat with. There was no other people waiting at the time that we came in. However, not even two minutes later, another two person party was sat at a four person table right next to us.
It took over half an hour to receive our food, and my order came out incorrect. The server apologized and admitted that it was her fault but told me it would probably take another 30 minutes for it to come out. I was under the impression that when it is the restaurant’s fault when an order is wrong, they immediately prioritize remaking the meal asap, so it was strange to me that that seemed to not be a procedure there. I said that I didn’t have time to wait and asked if I could just have the meal back that they originally tried to give me that was incorrect. She came back with the meal and I ate it. Minutes later, she brings out the check for my meal and I am charged full price for the incorrect meal of mine that I’m sure they were just going to throw away anyways, as well as a side that I ordered that I did not even end up receiving at all. I am not normally one to leave “bad reviews” but I was just baffled by the amount of things that happened in this one lunch and wanted to share my experience to hopefully bring awareness to the...
Read moreMy wife and I dined at Town Square Social the past 2 nights in a row.
Night 1: I ordered the Hot Chicken Sandwich, and my wife ordered the Patty Melt with Chili Queso Tots. All of the food was delicious! Definitely did not disappoint.
The 2 areas where we were not pleased was with our seating and our server.
We were seated right next to the door, and because the place was so busy, the door kept being opened, and it caused for a very chilling experience.
I won’t say that our server was horrible, but she was very off-putting. She had no personality, and when the check came back for me to sign, she practically threw it on the table and ran away.
Overall Night 1 experience: Pretty good, could’ve been a bit better. I told my wife that I would like to return and give it another go.
Night 2: My wife and I were seated in the adjacent room that we were seated in the previous night. Much better experience! The room was so beautiful and romantic, and it just helped create an unforgettable ambiance!
I ordered the Fried Bologna Sandwich with Pimento Cheese, and my wife ordered the same thing as Night 1..a Patty Melt with Chili Queso Tots. Once again, the food was cooked to perfection!
And then, we found ourselves wanting dessert. My wife ordered the Homemade Ice Cream Sandwich (which was a HUGE mound of Vanilla Bean Ice Cream on a large Chocolate Chip Cookie). I ordered the Fried Apple Pie with Ice Cream. It was a warm homemade empanada filled with Apple Pie filling.
Our server on Night 2 was Drake who provided really friendly and helpful service. He was seen working really hard, while making sure we were taken care of at the same time. He even laughed at my stupid Dad jokes!
My wife and I were very pleased with the atmosphere, food, service, and prices. This is a place that we would both be happy to return to and recommend others...
