China 1 — Restaurant in Leesburg

Let me first say that I think people have gotten this place mixed up with the one that just went under further down Hwy 441. This place is NOT an eat-in restaurant. It's a small take-out place that has excellent food. If the review sounds like it's for an eat-in restaurant, ignore it. They've gotten mixed up as to what restaurant they're reviewing. I walked into the other restaurant before it closed just to see if it was worth a further examination...and walked right back out again. Please don't confuse this small, wonderful take-out shop with that awful place down the road because they're nothing alike and this place is great! I'd hate to see them suffer because another - unrelated - Chinese place down the road that went under happened to be bad. Give this place a try. It's a cute little take out place that has excellent food. I've been ordering from here for at least 2-3 years and my husband (who's lived in Leesburg for 10+ years) for longer than he can recall. Their food and service are both great. They even let you mix up what you want. (I've been to many Asian restaurants that won't.) For instance, I usually order the Vegetable Delight but with curry sauce and fried tofu. If you like tofu and curry, you'd love this combo. It's not on the menu but he'll make it and it's fab! Give this place a try. You'll like it. (P.S. This place does not serve chocolate pudding. Never has. Again, it's not an eat-in...

So we walked in yesterday to pick up our food about 20 mins before closing and the place did smell off and we had ordered 3 LARGE plates of beef and broccoli pasta but when we got home and started eating we noticed that the meat was raw I did end up getting sick the next day which is today and we tried returning the food yes I understand we finished one of the bowls without the meat but they would not refund us they told us that that was how they cooked their meat and that we will not be getting any refund at all so then they just ended up giving us a free plate of beef and broccoli but without any pasta or rice it was all a disappointment cause we wanted to try something new which clearly was a bad idea oh and they also didn’t give us a receipt when we came to pick up our food so we couldn’t show them. I could only give them 1 star cause that’s the lowest but if there was an option less I would have put in a 0 anyway this was all honesty no lies were written here but this was my bad experience with china 1, okay well have a good day anybody who’s reading this except...

Improvements have certainly been made to this establishment over the years. I recently decided to eat here and I must say I had a great experience. In ordered the beef lo mein and it was cooked perfectly. The rice was cooked good and was soft and the flavors were certainly all there as you would come to expect. I also got the combo with an egg roll which was also fairly good.

The customer service was prompt as you would expect from a Chinese restaurant. My food was hot, fresh and I would certainly recommend this place. I’ve heard mixed reviews but I hope my review encourages people to try this place because it seems like they are honestly trying to make good food and I appreciate that.
