Perkins American Food Co. — Restaurant in Leesburg

Tonight my boyfriend decided to take me on a date night to Perkins. We arrived at approximately 7:40 pm. When we first entered Perkins we waited for 7 minutes before someone came to greet us and take us to our table. Remind you the place wasn’t packed, so we should have been seated right away. One we arrived to our table the Waitress asked us what we would like to drink and came right out with it. Not to mention she forgot to add lemon to my boyfriend’s water. After waiting another 10 minutes she came back to take our order. My boyfriend order and appetizers and we both ordered a meal. Another 30 minutes went by and still no food. The waitress showed back up to apologize for our wait and offered us a free pie. We decided to take her up on the offer. It took another 10 minutes to get that free pie and still no appetizer or entree. She came back with the pie and stated the cook was slow, but the food will be out shortly. At this point an hour had past. A party of five came in and 30 minutes went by before they received their food, but they received their orders before we did . The couple across from us stated they been there for 20 minutes and know one has yet to take their order. At this point it was 9:00. I started to feel upset, so I asked my boyfriend to let’s go somewhere else because Perkins didn’t deserve our money. I don’t recommend this place to anyone. If I could have left 0 stars that’s what they would have gotten. I don’t know how other locations are, but this was my first time going to a Perkins and most definitely my last. Just close this...

I ordered food to be delivered to me through DoorDash . Upon delivery the guy stated that he asked for the drinks and a lady stated that there were none to this order. The entrees were classic pot roast and two different sides. I received a sandwich with pot roast and onions and all fries. I called to speak to someone so I could get the right food. Took 5 phone calls for someone to finally answer in a frantic tone. I stated I got the wrong food and I’m on my way to possibly trade for what I ordered hoping they weren’t busy and I wasn’t causing a issue. I arrived to the restaurant with the wrong food in my hand and told the manager I just called. Seeming this was the lady who answered the phone and spoke to me. She got defensive saying on her end it said bun. Up and down it said bun. I replied even the sides were wrong and I received no drinks I ordered. I showed the receipt I had and stated there was not even a option for me to add a bun to my order. She walked to the back and I hear the cook yelling “don’t shoot the messenger, it said bun etc.” . I get a communication error . But no drinks and sides were still wrong and my pot roast became a sandwich. . Even soon getting the correct food the sides were in the wrong containers and she kept accusing me that I pressed bun , the doordash guy is a liar, and constantly stating I was wrong the whole time being there. What happened to the customers are right ? Or at least the respect of being heard and concerns addressed? . Having a defensive manager has turned me away to never eat at this...

Service was slow but not the fault of the waitress- it was 2PM and she said she hould have been off by noon but no other service staff had showed up for work. She had the entire place to herself so that was excusable. She did a good job of keeping our drinks filled while we waited for our food. Which took a long time to arrive- maybe kitchen staff also didn't show up? Again, if that was the case that's excusable.

There was no excuse for the food however.

Mom ordered the pot roast with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The asparagus was inedible. The pot roast fatty. My wife ordered the mini pot pie and salad. She expected the salad to show up before the pot pie. It showed up afterward. When my wife asked, the waitress said "Oh, it should have come out at the same time on one long plate; I don't know why they didn't do that. Why would you want a cold salad along with a hot pot pie?? That's an issue Perkins. Even more of an issue is that my wife has been sick since we got home. It's 12:50 AM and she's still nauseous from her pot roast. I ordered the steak skillet. When it arrived to the table I was able to handle the skillet with my bare hands. It was barely warm instead of sizzling as I have had at other locations as well as Denny's.

Overall not a very pleasant experience food-wise although the waitress was friendly and was doing her best.

UPDATE: The owner said they'd contact me if I filled out the form. They never did. It's been eight months so it seems they never will. We're avoiding this Perkins from now on,...
