We are from TX ( San Antonio ) where we come from it is easy to find a mexican restaurant, moving to Louisiana and having to try new places we came across to Mexico Lindo, the Staff is so friendly and the restaurant its clean, the food it’s okay the chips I can say would be my favorite thing. Food wise, I just really think its the meat that Louisiana has because it tastes so different from other states and from my home town and makes all the mexican restaurants around not taste good. From the Steak a la Mexicana plate being nothing like I expect it to be because of the meat I tried the enchiladas verdes plate and when eating at the restaurant everything seems to be okay with the plate other than the enchiladas being really salty. I wouldn’t recommend to order for delivery or to go simply because the plate looks old and it tastes so nasty. All I can say is the service is great but the food isn’t. Not the Mexican food you would expect. ( I ordered enchiladas twice for delivery and seriously this is what they look like all the time No sauce and the cheese is like it has been there for hours, the beans taste old and crusty and the rice is flavorless ) Better to eat there and if it’s not what you expect the owner is always around making sure everything is running properly so he can address your...
Read moreWell, after sorting out the whole fiasco with my bank, since they decided to charge me more than I ordered and then go ahead and charge me more and more. I decided that enough is enough. Even though I had some bad experiences, I kept going back because of my friends. I, had bad meals, the margaritas were too sweet and don’t understand the meaning of happy hour, (one dollar off margaritas) which is laughable. It all culminated when I was served beans with rocks. I took a picture and showed it to the manager, and he said it was an oversight because the beans they use don’t get strained good. I took out the rock before I even chewed hard. I didn’t get a discount and I frankly didn’t ask for one. I stopped eating and returned my food. I paid full price for the meal, and even left a tip. Mind you, I probably got charged extra for the rock. The other incident was when I was incorrectly charged for my meal. I was given a receipt that had no itemized information about my order, just that I owed them 52.60. Which was not what I was told I owed, was told I owed 29.45. I would be weary about paying with card. The manager will give you the impression of telling you “sorry, not sorry, now get out.” Will avoid going here again. And again, both incidents, I paid full price, didn’t ask for a discount, and...
Read moreUpdate 6/1/22: Now live here and food is STILL GREAT! Service was fast, waiter was attentive without being overbearing. Had the cheesy chimichanga while Hubby had his usual enchiladas. All were not only cooked to order (his enchiladas) but hot and good. This is still our favorite Mexican place in town.
Previous review from 4 years ago: Food was great! Service was good, but was a bit surprised that we had to wait to get a table for lunch. Not being from this area, not sure if that is normal or not but could be inconvenient for a lunch hour during the week (we were the on a Saturday).
Husband had to return his enchiladas as he found the enchilada sauce too spicy. I had the combination plate that included an enchilada, tamale and taco. Mine was served with chili gravy and was delicious!
Something we both found unique about this restaurant... it's the only Mexican restaurant we've been to that serves warmed salsa. Or, maybe they were making fresh and it had not cooled yet? Either way, on a cool day, it was welcomed.
Was good overall and we will visit again before...
