When I work out of town @ Fort Polk, Thadapetch is my go to dinner spot! Quant little eatery don't let the outside looks fool you (I have learned most places with an outside that makes you second guess your choice will usually blow you away, and Tha da petch sure as hell is not letting you down) inside is spotless with friendly family staff. The food is always cooked to perfection, choose your spice level so supper is tailored to you, can you beat that? No. What has really made me feel like I NEED to leave a review for them is this time while working out of town during the pandemic I called a little late (8:40pm; i know their hours are till 9pm but Pandemic.... they have been closing at 8pm) but upon hearing they were closed I let out a sound of "oh no what have I done. What will I find to eat?" hearing my dismay the owner asked how fast can you get here. Staying in the Days inn never paid off better. (restaurant is in the same building) Was told to hurry, this was an understatement; I walked over to pick up dinner (Flaming beef)that was ready in all of 8min, yes the pineapple with the beef is delicious. In closing this place that was closed for 40min prior to my calling in made a huge effort in still cooking me supper and you may think wow how could the owner have the chef stay so late and continue cooking but no this owner care enough to ask how the chef feels, if they wanna leave then sry we closed, thankfully that is not what happened tonight. Of course had to leave a good tip for the extra effort. Beyond amazing. Things I myself have tried are the green curry, pad thai, spring rolls, mee krob raad nah, and the flaming beef, all are full of flavor and in my opinion a much better option...
Read moreOur meal consisted of the following:
PROs: Shared: Calamari appetizer, which came with fried broccoli and zucchini - very good Hubby: Kung Pao chicken and shrimp (which he said was very good).
CONs: Me: Hot green tea (normal). My meal consisted of sliced beef (which was tough), egg noodles, broccoli and gravy, sprinkled with beef bouillon on top. Gravy both looked and tasted like beef broth thickened with corn starch. Did not care for it AT ALL. After the initial taste, I gave Hubby one noodle. Other than that, my plate was untouched. Made mgt aware of this but no resolution was offered.
There is also a sign posted that says there are no drink refills. We both had tea but did not 'test' this policy as drink sizes were sufficient.
Neutral: Our bill was...
Read moreMy husband and I have eaten here a lot of times. We move a lot and enjoy Thai food and was happy to find this place. The family that runs it is very nice. It's always enjoyable to dine in or order out. We have tried and enjoyed every appetizer. We enjoy the Tom yum soup, especially love all the vegetables in it. The pad Thai is very good, my favorite part is the tofu that they have in it along with your protein. We have also tried thier drunken noodles (it has a proper name, but I don't know how to spell it) and they are very good. They have 4 levels a spice and you can chose based on your preferences. I prefer just a little kick and my husband like the heat Overall this is a great place, with a good atmosphere, nice people, and excellent...
