Locals Tavern — Restaurant in Leland

The locals tavern is a quaint and fun bar that sports 4 pool tables for my fellow players plenty of tv to watch the game and enough tables to sit a large crowd. The food is delicious burgers that melt in your mouth with crispy fries and some of the most fresh produce a top your food to keep you coming back for more. There sandwhiches are divine my mother loves them and swears there the best in the north carolina area. Now the beer 🍺 so much prime selections from this bar i usually will go fot a white lightning nc local tap. But i have taster a wide array of their lagers and everything has been fantastic i reccomend trying all the local brews if your passing through your taste buds will thank me. Now if you be a wine drinker then your all set the menu is vast and will have what your looking for with a large pour and a happy price to keep your wallet full. The wait staff and the cooks here are absolutely pleasent and attentive. Everything arrives fast and with perfect quality so you could stop here for a lunch and be back in time. Chefs sometimes deliver the food directly to you 😋. And the bartenders here are quick patient and full of pride for their work. Always noticed my drink is right where i want it to the rim with perfect foam nice pour lasses. Anyway the beast gives this restaurant 5 out of 5 forks enjoy and eat well my friends. Visited this local spot with family this evening. My husband ordered a beer (his 2nd of the night) and was told he was "slurring his words" so the bartender refused service. She was extremely rude to our whole party of 8 who wanted to order drinks/food for the evening way before this event. She continued to argue with our party saying she has the right to refuse service and it was her decision and not to tell her how to do her job. She then turned around and started bad mouthing us to other employees and customers. Little did she know he struggles daily with a speech impediment and embarrassed him infront of family and other customers. We closed our tabs immediately and left she continued to throw our tabs at us with such an attitude. We are extremely disappointed in not only the way we were treated but the fact a local bar will no longer be an option for us, we are new to the area and looked forward to spending many nights. Do better and look at the WHOLE situation before making judgements. 3 Miller lites on a tab does not warrant a refusal of service, especially when people maybe their "regulars" were falling all over the dance floor obviously way more impaired then anyone in our party. I am so disappointed in this service and hope you train your staff to be better people in the service industry without discrimination...

We've lived in Leland since early 2020 and this was our first visit (15 Jan 2023). Why haven't we been here before? Well, a few friends said the food was terrible. I totally disagree!

We met up with friends to watch a football game. The place had not quite filled up so we were able to get a table for 6 right away. It did fill up later. It was pretty noisy inside but I guess it was because of all the football fans.

We had a variety of foods to eat, some of which we shared: Jalapeno poppers, fried mushrooms, chicken quesadillas, shrimp tacos, and a Rueben sandwich.

We were very satisfied with the food. I probably wouldn't do two fried foods at the same meal (the poppers and mushrooms - they were good but too much breading for me). The shrimp tacos (three of them) were huge with a really nice amount of shrimp. My friend who ordered them said thy were very good. So was the Rueben sandwich. I also enjoyed trying the chicken quesadilla. The tater tots were perfect for me - not overly salted like other restaurants, although one friend said they were just okay.

The drinks were a hit and miss. One friend stated her drink tasted like there was hardly any vodka. Mine was fine. I later had white wine, which I liked.

Very good and attentive service by the waitresses.

Overall, very good food at reasonable prices. And a fun place...
