I went here with my family for my mother’s 84th birthday and it was the absolute worst experience I have ever had in my life. The service was horrible and the manager/owner was rude, disrespectful and unprofessional. The food was mediocre and the staff was unable to provide service in a acceptable manner. We were given no menus or utensils, told that there were no oysters available at a oyster bar, had our orders taken wrong by a waitress that was too preoccupied with how the bill would be paid from the start of our experience to be able to get the orders right. Two individuals did not like their order and sent it back. We ordered two shrimp sliders, but received two hamburger sliders instead. The waitress came back to the table and curtly asked what was wrong with the food. It was explained that they simply did not like the food and the other orders were taken incorrectly. The food came out so slowly that half the party was finished with their food, while several people were still waiting for their food. Other customers who came in after us, were seated, served, and had finished eating before our orders were taken. The waitress then came back and told us that if we didn’t like the food we could find somewhere else to eat. When I asked the waitress to repeat what she said, she stated that she was relating what the manager told her. I was so shocked by the response given I asked to speak with the manager. When the manager came from the kitchen with other waitresses in tow, she repeated her comment. She began to state information given from her staff that was incorrect, however she never asked us what happened. It has always been told to me that the customer is always right and you should seek to understand what the concern is if an issue arises. Rather than diffusing the situation using basic management 101 solutions, the manager continued to raise her voice and speak to me and my family disrespectfully. To make matters worst there was a couple at the bar who encouraged and applauded her disrespectful and racial overtones and others made comments about having a carry and conceal license. There was one family who witnessed and apologized for this happening to us. (Thank you!) While she did not call me out of name, the treatment of my family and I was so unequivocally different and the only difference was our race. I am so disappointed with this experience and I urge anyone reading this not to support this type of behavior by patronizing this establishment. If I could have posted 0...
Read moreI was with my family who was treated very rudely and disrespectfully by the manager/owner and waitstaff. We went to celebrate my mother-in-law’s 84th birthday. Our waitress was very lax in attending to our needs. We were not provided menus nor utensils. She was more interested in knowing how the bill was to be paid and then proceeded to take our drink orders. My sister-in-law got us menus after we received our drinks. After our order for appetizers were taken, we asked for utensils. We received the appetizers, but still no utensils. We asked again and were finally given forks. We almost finished our appetizers and then the waitress came to take our entree orders. My husband and several other family members wanted fried oysters which the restaurant could not provide as they were out of oysters (oyster bar?). My daughter and I sent back dishes that were not prepared correctly and we did not want to have them replaced. Two other members of the family ordered shrimp burgers but received hamburgers instead. They asked the waitress to have the correct items prepared. One waitress came over with the food my daughter and I sent back and very rudely asked who had the food and why the items were sent back. I explained to her why we sent the items back. A waitress went to my sister-in-law and her children to tell them that they couldn’t keep sending food back to the kitchen, and that we should find somewhere else to eat (a message sent by the manager through the waitress). My sister-in-law asked to speak to the manager who was very rude. She never asked any of us what the situation was. I told her she was being rude in asking us to pay for our drinks and then leave. She asked me what else did we want her to do? I advised she needed to apologize to my sister-in-law regarding how rudely she spoke to her. She gave a half-hearted apology and I told her to stop since it was clear she was not sincere. She again insisted that she did not care if we paid for anything but we could get out. I asked another waitress if this is how customers are treated when they send food back. She told me it has nothing to do with race as they have regular black customers. I told her I did not ask about race. She then attempted to tell me that the manager could not comp for 4 plates. I reminded her the 2 burgers were supposed to have been shrimp burgers. I could go on, but this is not a place that deserves even the 1 star, but it is the least I...
Read moreThe food was subpar for the pricepoint we paid during Happy Hour time. My husband’s oysters did not taste nor look fresh. I had steamed shrimp that were tasteless even with seasoning. They were not a sweet tasting shrimp that i am used to when purchasing and preparing local bought fresh shrimp. Service was very poor. I ordered unsweetened iced tea had to wait and ask for the sweetener. Then waited five minutes and had to go ask someone else for sweetener. Waitress was very distracted with conversing with other staff. When my husband ordered another drink she went back to conversing with staff. After waiting i finally had to walk behind the counter to ask her for the drink. She did apologize and commented that this was the end of her shift. Servers need training. The table placed beside us had to go and ask for their server to come for their order after waiting and waiting to order. The restaurant had four tables seated, it was not busy. Finally the Music being played did not fit nor suit the atmosphere nor the majority of patrons present at that time during Happy Hour. The working sector was not yet present at that time of day in the restaurant. Finally, in leaving we had parked on the side of the building where the entrance to kitchen is located. This was a very appalling site. Several dirty mops were leaned up against the wall, very cluttered cleaning supplies, very unsightly. My parents operated a restaurant/tavern the interior always matched the exterior in appearance, cleanliness and service. For these reasons we would not return to this establishment nor recommend others. There are too many other options...
