Tonight I was doordashing and received an order from here. The crap I witnessed was ridiculous. The manager on duty, an older woman with glasses, treated a younger (clearly high school, she had her book bag) employee was outrageous. To preface, I worked here in high school myself so I know how the machines and receipts work. When I got there, the girl politely said that she was off the clock and someone else would help me. They weren’t busy when I got there and nobody was in the drive through so any of the other employees could have helped me, I told her not to worry about it. I’m not sure if this is what upset the manager or something prior. But I didn’t even realize the younger blond employee had ordered something until she asked for it to be made and the manager recalled it. After what followed, I’m not sure if it being deleted was done on purpose or not. A customer, (the last one the girl had rung up before clocking out), came up and told the manager that his order was wrong, he had subbed Brunswick stew for French fries. The woman proceeded to dispute it with the man, saying he wasn’t rung up correctly, ‘but it was fine’. The man was holding his receipt and told the woman that on it, it said Brunswick stew. The woman then says, ‘the girl who rung you up was just trying to leave and go home so she rung you up wrong. It says with fries’. The man pointed to his receipt and said, ‘no. It says without fries right here. Brunswick stew instead’. The woman then says, ‘well mine doesn’t’ and requests to keep the receipt to ‘look at it later’. The man declined and said he needed the receipt. I know how the receipt machine works. The yellow receipt says the same thing the white does. They print at the same time. For her to speak about her employee like that, to a CUSTOMER, is utterly ridiculous. Even if the girl had messed up, which the man proved she hadn’t. I stood there with that girl as she repeated asked for her food to be made, her mom was outside waiting. The woman kept saying, in a fake polite voice, ‘I’m doing my best’. But I’m sorry. The other orders on the screen said 5 and 2 minutes on the clock. This girl’s order had been waiting for 20 MINUTES. She was near tears, saying her mom was gonna be upset with her and asked for a refund at that point because she had been waiting for 20 minutes. The manager then says she can’t get to the front right now. I was shaking I was so mad and made several comments about how it was ridiculous and the manager needed to make the girl’s order, to which I was also ignored. I had to leave because I had to deliver my food to the customer, but by the time I left that poor girl still hadn’t gotten her order and it wasn’t even started. Employees are not required to work after clocking out. After she clocks out and her order is put in, she is a paying customer just like the rest of us. There is no reason she was sitting there for that long and waiting for her food over orders that had only been taken 2 or 5 minutes prior. If the woman hadn’t of wasted time arguing over HER OWN MISTAKE, she wouldn’t have been behind. If HER high school daughter was being treated that way, I imagine she would throw a fit like anyone else. You can bet everything that when I left, I told that girl to quit and find another job. The way she was being treated absolutely wasn’t right and she by no means should be expected to put up with that behavior. She has school tomorrow. It was 8:30 at night, she was off the clock. I really hope she takes my advice and goes to work somewhere else where they respect their employees. Still shaking with anger...
Read moreI don’t know if people at this place know me because I always ask for salt. But always ask for it cause the fries never have enough salt for me, which is fine. So it really makes my day when they remember to put salt and the vinegar sauce in the bag. Everyone on here who’s complaining about weird times and gross food are big babies. Everyone who ACTUALLY GREW UP HERE knows this place is the best bbq in town and it’s a bit overpriced but if you don’t go often it’s not a big deal. Also just don’t go during peak. It’s that simple lolz. The owners and workers have always been sweet and this has been my favorite place since I was a kid. I’ve even door dashed here a bunch of times and when I picked the orders the people were really sweet and I didn’t mind waiting. But that’s the difference between me and someone who just wants to complain on here and not give credit where it’s due. Idk how you can complain about a place that only has a...
Read moreThey are located right off of highway 17 near the Harris Teeter and the Jersey Mike’s. Right up the road from two hotels in Leland (less than a mile away) so it’s close by for travelers that are staying in the area. You can drive through or dine inside. Food is served quickly and is always good. I have never ate anything there I didn’t like. Both the chicken and the bbq is delicious and I tend to be very picky about chicken, so that’s saying a lot!! It’s crispy and seasoned on the outside while remaining juicy and flavorful on the inside! The staff is ALWAYS extremely polite and super helpful. I have only been given incorrect food once in the many, many times I have been there. And when I tell you they went above and beyond what was needed to correct the easily made and easily fixed mistake and make sure we fully satisfied, I mean it!! I always recommend them for BBQ (puked pork) in the nearby local area! Defiantly...
