If I could give a negative star rating I would! God awful service! Came here from out of town, looking for a few beers and some Irish food. Kitchen is closed for renovations, ok understandable. Had a beer with the day bartender, pleasant enough. Went elsewhere for dinner. Came back to a different bartender and her daughter. First round went great. Second round I got the wrong beer and the wrong shot, a Buttershot instead of Fireball. Third round I had to go up to the bar and get my own. No biggie, but the daughter tried to pour a Buttershot!!!! Apparently you have to be a regular to get attention here because these 2 are all over who they know. Will be back if the kitchen ever opens DURING LUNCHTIME HOURS!!! And an introduction other than,"We have no food" would be great! How about a sign on the door? I'd like to address the person(s) I am giving my money to and who I am tipping, which will be no one in...
Read moreOn my last visit, last week Monday around 4:30 I was joining three people that were already there sitting outside. My presence was not recognized by the server so I had to keep looking up at her as she was passing by and she would not make eye contact with me. She must have passed by three times. I just don't know how as a server you're not keeping eyes on every single table to make sure that they have what they need. I finally got to order a drink. Then basically, had an exact reoccurrence when trying to order food...no eye contact. I was not personally paying the bill or I would have had the opportunity to tip low to send a message.
As far as the food goes, the tacos were about average. Atmosphere is always good there. You will hear a few trains go by but if you expect that going in, then it's...
Read moreSince moving to Lemont a few months ago Hughies has become my favorite spot to grab a bite to eat or drink at least once a week. Their one of a kind Guinness habanero soup is the best soup I have ever had. The soup is paired with a side of toasted whole grain bread that comes with Kerrygold Irish butter and like the soup this may be the best bread I’ve ever had especially when dipped in the soup. The Boneless wings are great as well as their burger and the corned beef sandwich! Really anything you get here is fantastic. Servers are always polite, friendly, and attentive even when this tiny but lively pub gets packed. Hard to believe the 4.4 star rating on Google with the multiple experiences and food I’ve had at Hughies. Best...
