Long story short: Ordered two pizzas, paid in advance, waited far too long, got the wrong order, received partial refund. Read on for more details.
My family was visiting some friends that live in Overland Park, and we all love Casey's pizza (and can't get it where we live), so on our way into town, my wife called to order a couple pies. (This was on or around August 15.) The automated system told us the approximate time the pizzas would be ready. I like my pizza fresh, so we made sure to arrive well in advance of the supposed ready time.
When I walked up to the folks in the kitchen, one of the guys told me I was early (which I knew), and I sort of got the impression he hadn't started making my pizzas yet. No big deal. I went over to the checkout counter and paid for my food in advance (this was a mistake; more on that later). Then I walked around the store to kill some time.
When I came back to the kitchen a few minutes later, I came to realize they still hadn't started making my pizzas yet. Evidently, even though I was already there, and they weren't terribly busy, they intended to wait to make my food so that it would be ready at the time the computer screen said it should be ready.
So I waited patiently, even though we were all hungry and tired. Finally, about ten minutes after the prescribed time my food was supposed to be picked up, I see the pies roll out of the oven. And wouldn't you know it, one of them was made wrong. We had ordered a Hawaiian, and they left the pineapple off of it.
To the cook's credit, he did offer to make me another pizza, but I said I couldn't wait any longer, so he offered to print me a new ticket with just the one (correct) pizza on it, and I accepted. I will acknowledge that he at least tried to make it right.
I was able to take the new ticket to the counter, get a refund on the first transaction, and pay for just the single correct pizza. I left with both pies (one of them being wrong) long after I had arrived, and roughly 15 to 20 minutes after the order was supposed to be ready.
To make matters worse, the pizza was not good. It just really didn't seem to have any sauce on it (this is very common with lots of pizza places, in my opinion).
All in all, it was a very...
Read moreMost of the employees here are very friendly and great people. But there always are some bad apples, for the next time you decide to take a trip to Casey's on 79th and Quivira you might skip the pizza because there is a particular employee by the name of Edward that is very vocal about his feelings about white people. Edward works in the Pizza Kitchen and dislikes white people, I'm not just guessing or speculating it's kind of hard not to hear his comments when someone has such a big mouth like he has. This African-American gentleman is very rude and I wouldn't doubt if he was the type of person that went into the restroom and didn't wash his hands coming out. This is just my personal opinion and what I have observed so next time you're in to get a quick bite at the pizza place inside of Casey's you might think twice about that pizza and not to mention the fact that somebody with such hatred towards white people is making your food considering that at least half of the people coming in the store are white or other ethnicities. When you're in there pay attention to someone talking really loud and obnoxious, I'll bet you money the employee's name is Edward. I'm just still trying to figure out how he is kept his job considering he's been there for a little while. Just to make things clear I'm not the only person who has heard him and noticed what type of person he is and the people that have been with me are of other ethnicities it just so happened to be African-American Or Hispanic. I know that I've complained and maybe someone reading this will here something inappropriate and will complain as well. I know I wouldn't want someone serving the food to have such ignorance towards people. It's almost 2018 and you would think by now people would get over the race card because we're all the same color underneath our skin but some people just can't seem to realize that and I don't think that type of ignorance will ever go away in my lifetime or anyone else's which...
Read moreThis location started my boycott of Caseys. I had a couple of visits here where staff were having conversations with other people while I waited to make a purchase (which I overlooked) but then I was charged for pizza I didn't receive. I tried to reach out to the manager where I requested a phone call but, oddly, the manager wouldn't contact me via phone. I then reached out to corporate. I found it odd that on their corporate website they did not provide a phone number so I sent a message on their online form explaining I had several issues to bring to their attention and would like to speak with customer service to voice my experiences. Someone did respond via email wanting me to describe my experience via email. I again requested a phone call because I have several bad experiences and have been charged for items I didn't receive. Casey's did not reply to my response and did not call. So Caseys duped me $40 and I'm not comfortable with doing business with companies that take customers...
