Minsky's Pizza — Restaurant in Lenexa

The pizza here is great. The wait for that pizza, not-so-great. 2 weekends in a row, 2 different Minsky's locations, and the same result; Both took over twice the time they quoted. I understand times are busy, online orders, social distancing, et cetera. BUT, when you are quoted a time-frame and it's consistently twice what they quote, the quality of the product loses it's lustre. Last week we ordered delivery. We were quoted 40-45 minutes, it was nearly 2 hours before we got our order, while trying - and failing - to communicate with the kids they have working there. So this week, we order takeout from a different Minsky's. We were quoted 40 minutes if we wanted take-out. I waited for a half an hour in the parking lot 40 minutes AFTER ordering before I even saw a pizza. Again, having to call to see what's up, more than a few times. If a business quotes a time, you better stick to it, or call to inform that it will be late. Minsky's, no matter the location, does not do this. IF you order from either location for dinner, order it in the afternoon. That way you may have it in time for dinner. If they quote you 40 minutes, it WILL BE 80 minutes. Great pizza, friendly staff, but not terribly well-managed in...

We are from out of town & this place was recommended by locals. I won't be trusting those locals with food recommendations ever again. When the waiter arrived with our drinks he spilt half of them onto our 2 yr old. Thankfully only the side of his shirt got wet (coke & water). Waiter apologized (accidents happen, I know) & said he was going back for napkins to help clean him off... they never arrived. Instead, he bring the refilled drinks & says he's going for a mop to clean the mess. After a few minutes the hostess comes over with towels & cleans the mess. When he came back to take orders we asked him for straws for the drinks bc he forgot (again, he's probably still frazzled from spilling the drinks. No biggy) takes our orders, leaves, still no napkins to wipe up the 2 yr old, still no straws. Brings our food out. Pizzas were barely cut (had to tear them apart) & slightly burnt. My fettuccine was soupy & the chicken was super dry. People who had been standing around since before we arrived were still waiting for the bar? I'm guessing? All in all, not worth the trip. Hoping to find some better places...

While the pizza is most certainly fantastic, the service is an absolute dumpster fire. Called in at 5 pm to order pizza and was informed I needed to call back at 5:15 for timed orders. 🙄 I said, Sure and did requesting the order be ready at 6 pm.

Upon arrival at 6:04, I signed my check and was informed they were “running a little behind.” Little did I know that meant that I would be waiting for another 45 minutes for them to get themselves together enough to have my pizza ready to roll leaving my family at home hungry and me waiting for food while they continued to rush around. I should have expected this when there was a crowd of 10 people waiting on takeout orders.

However, after 30 mins of waiting I asked for the third time where my order was and the counter worker then said, “oh, let me check,” and “found” it in the warmer oven.

So disappointing to see a Kansas City restaurant staple ruined by some of the most atrocious management and service...
