Tanner's Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Lenexa

We kind of knew better but this trip took the cake. We literally just ate at the Pflumm and College location withing the past hour on Saturday 6/29. My wife ordered a nacho and I ordered what was listed as a new item, a chicken Cobb salad. My salad consisted of some wilted iceberg lettuce, 5 grape tomatoes, a bit of diced red onion, guacamole which was not listed on the menu and finally croutons which I asked our server not to put on there. I literally ate like 2 bites ad threw it to the side. My wife ate a few bites of her nacho and said they weren't good either so she threw hers to the side. The funny thing is our server with little to no personality asked how everything was, we didn't eat the stuff so it should have been telling if she was any kind of server. As far as drinks, my wife had a Long Island Iced Tea, the first one was good she said, the second one was mostly soda so the bartender just threw in a bunch of alcohol which made it insanely strong and undrinkable. How do you screw up such an easy cocktail. Lesson learned, if you want fried potato skins and a beer, this is your spot for any kind of substance or service...skip this hole and head somewhere else, plenty of bar and grills in OP, Lenexa and Olathe to be able to avoid this nightmare. 70 bucks with dinner and Tip, I should have just burned...

I went there twice with friends this past weekend. Our first experience was phenomenal mostly due to our waitress and Service Manager, Leah C, who gave us incredible service. She was very helpful and gave great recommendations and knew the menu very well as well as what is popular amongst their customers, was very hospitable and funny, and overall, made us feel very welcomed and at home (we were in from Chicago). We enjoyed it so much so we went back the next day.

Next day didn’t go as smoothly and my order came out wrong. I ordered charred chicken wings with BBQ and they brought out the Chicken lips. Our waitress wasn’t Leah this time, but she was also very courteous and apologized for the mistake. The restaurant did very well with making it right and I was still happy with my experience and look forward to visiting again my next trip to Tanner’s.

Busy or not, it is unbelievably wrong to allow any employee to be negative and rude toward a patron. We weren’t the only ones commenting on this negative wait person. I tried to explain my feelings- and the wait person was excused. Big mistake. Now- I will only come for games and otherwise, i will enjoy the other Tanner’s bar and grill locations in town. The manager (not the one I usually see) couldn’t even apologize for us having a bad experience. He felt she was busy & rushed and she had been there for 4 years, so I guess her tenure meant SHE was allowed to be hateful and ugly. Glad I tipped my own server well - over 25%, glad I kept my cool.
