The Icey Freeze — Restaurant in Lenoir

This used to be my family's favorite place to eat for burgers sandwiches and icecream. Over the last 6 mths we have slowly stopped going. Service has gotten ridiculously slow and the food has been off or actually been spoiled. In June me and my daughter both got hamburgers. Her a cheeseburger and me a jumbo all the way. Both of our burgers tasted like the meat had gone bad. Stuff happens and we were already home so I dropped it and didn't say anything, the meat could been dated incorrectly. The next time we waited over 30 minutes for icecream cones. Our next visit my husband waited 45 or so minutes for 2 hotdogs and 2 hot ham and cheese sandwiches and the sandwhiches had spoiled tomatoes that tasted awful on them. Today was the last straw. My husband was picking up my lunch. Sweet tea and hot ham and cheese sandwich. Not the world's most difficult meal. He waited around 40 min to go check on it and was told "oh, you've been waiting awhile! We'll get that taken care of." An additional 30 min later it was ready with an I'm sorry and a free small fry which was soggy and cold. Nothing more was offered. AND he had to ask for the tea as they didn't have it ready. Needless to say, I don't know what has changed whether it be bad management, poor staffing choices, a lack of training or all the above but this Lenoir favorite won't last much longer like this. Okay so let me start with this used to be my most favorite place to go get my lunch and or dinner over the years the prices have gone up and food has gotten less admirable. But needless to say I went today for the first time in a few months just didn’t have the time to go stand outside but I had a little free time today. So I get there and I have a list on a piece of paper it says 4 hotdogs with only slaw a large tator tot and a large ice cream. I get home because I chose to eat at home and my hotdogs have CHILIE ONIONS MUSTARD AND slaw… also a SMALL tator tot and a SMALL ice cream. I paid for a large tot and a large ice cream and I have allergies to onions. So I was quite upset. The only reason I added a star was cause I called them and explained the situation and they said they would remake my hotdogs for a refund so that was alright with me. have been visiting this business for 5 years, they have decent food, but the quality of service an food has gone "downhill" in those years. we used to either call in an order or just order an wait. on a call in order, it used to be ready when i got there, last trip a few days ago, i called order in gave them 15 mins lead time, when i arrived waited another 35 mins for it. week before, ordered at front an waited 30 mins on food. the food quality is at best mediocre at present. the workers don't seem to have it together, one or two doing the work, the others seem to 'wander' around. we used to eat there twice weekly but now, maybe twice a month. service is slow an time consuming not to mention getting 'cold food'...
