Cristina's Restaurant — Restaurant in Leominster

Christina's Restaurant has been THE spot for big events in my family; they have great food and TERRIFIC bread, and the private room upstairs is perfectly functional. My MIL planned my wedding rehearsal dinner a few weeks back, talked to someone on the phone, and picked a catering package that accommodated several allergies in the group. Someone who was NOT my MIL subsequently called the restaurant to switch out desserts and also switched out the catering package to something that included a dish that person preferred and cost $5 more per person. Christina's accepted this change because the person who called was a "good friend." We were notified of a change in desserts offered, but not the menu/price difference until presented with the bill. Obviously, the big issue here is with the caller, but this was an egregious oversight on the part of management at Christina's as well. They should have called the person who planned and paid for the event before making changes. Period. The whole thing was very embarrassing, and I've decided not to return to Christina's for events or even dinner anymore. I always look forward to their bread and spicy oil they give you downstairs, and it was disappointing to see we got frozen Sysco rolls and cold butter pads upstairs. We were there for maybe 90 min to 2 hours, and the drink service was so slow we all could only get one drink in. And frankly, the presenting of a special pan of the preferred dish to the caller at the end of the night felt like a slap in the face to my MIL....

Please keep in mind I don't really do reviews nor do I ever complain, however this was all around Awefull. I've been here once before about 7 months ago. Chicken picota, was awesome. I took my 4 yr old grandson to eat today. I ordered him chicken broccoli with penne, with Alfredo, which is on the children's menu While ordering with the waitress I asked if he could have Alfredo not red sauce. She said yes or butter sauce. I was charged an extra 4 dollars for a childs size meal, than when it came it had garlic butter sauce. Also the table which I was sitting was dirty all around and a piece of gum on the wall at eye level where I was sitting. I can not eat anything with seeds including squash medley, I asked for broccoli instead NO was the answer. Please see attached pic if I can upload it I will. Awefull experience. Will not be back. Hi My wife and I frequently visit your restaurant and have never had a bad meal and the service has always been top notch! Last weekend we came to your restaurant with friends and again we had a great meal and the service was amazing! The only thing I did not like is we ordered fried calamari and the small portion of red sauce wasn’t enough so we asked for more and was charged an additional $2 dollars for another tiny portion of red sauce??? I was very disappointed and kind of embarrassed that we entertained our friends in your establishment! There was no way we got enough red sauce on the first order! A very disappointment for a long time...
