Should you stop what youâre doing and drive here to try their food and baked goods? Yes.. yes you should do that now.
I had first seen this little spot tucked in a shopping center off bandera and thought âhmm, I want to try them outâ. Now, I regret not having gone sooner.
First of all, the family there is awesome. Theyâre really nice and struck up conversation. The lady described all their menu options and baked goods, and oh man, I didnât realize they even had lunch/dinner food.
My wife got a Cuban sandwich and I got a sandwich that had ground beef, cheese, Iâm not sure what the bread was but it was perfect texture with a nice little crunch on the outside. Iâm doing this review a couple weeks late, so I forgot what the sandwiches were called, but they were AMAZING. Seriously, go try them as soon as you get a chance! My sone got these pizza roll things that were kind of like hot pockets. They were SO good.
They had all kinds of desserts, and they were UNIQUE. Not your typical run of the mill donut shop options. They had this Reeseâs cupcake with buttercream filling, amazing looking bread pudding, this awesome looking tres leches dish.. I didnât know what to choose!
My wife got the carrot cake cupcake, I forgot what my sonâs cupcake was and I got a strawberry filled pastry. Every thing was dense, moist, and absolutely delicious.
So, itâs not even a question, do yourself a favor and give...
Read moreWe really enjoyed this bakery / Cafe. Much of the menu is Puerto Rican however there are foods from other places in the region. We first tried them when they had the spot where the food trucks were on Potranco. When we found out they had a store front we had to try them out. We were not disappointed. It got busy right after we gave our order. Rightfully so, the food and customer service were outstanding. Very friendly upbeat always smiling. We ordered the Entregao and the Cuban sandwiches. Both were very good. It was my first time trying and entregao which was ham, cheese, ground beef, lettuce, tomato with a very good sauce. For desert we had the bizcocho boricua, guayaba sitos and bizcocho con chocolate cream with vanilla icing and a chocolate bar on top. I definitely recommend you stop here for either pastries or sandwiches and breakfast as well as coffee. The coffee was self serve...
Read moreMy family & I ate at Wing Daddyâs and I saw that Mom & Son Bakery was open so we went to see what they had. âSonâ explained what everything on display was and we tried an assortment of pastries. My children loved the brownie, whoopie pie & cheesecake cupcakes. My husband and I really enjoyed the quesitos and the flaky pastry with powdered-sugar fruit filling (I cannot recall the name but I do have it included with my photos.) âSonâ was very welcoming and friendly. The bakery is very clean and the decor is very simple but perfect - it feels like youâre visiting a relativeâs quaint cozy cottage in the countryside elsewhere. Our friend ordered an iced coffee (with a double shot of espresso) and let us try some; it was fantastic! The prices are very reasonable and they send everyone on their way with a positive message which is something we all can use these days. Mom & Son Bakery is worth...
