A nice warm Spring day and BBQ felt like the right meal to have. Since the grill at home wasn’t quite ready, we decided to check out The Pit Bar & Grill. It always good to go to a local restaurant and see it busy. For a Saturday night around 6:30pm, we were seated after a ten-minute wait. Our server greeted us quickly and took our drink order. However, she came back to take our dinner order before our drinks were brought to our table. The bar was busy and the wait was expected. We had barely looked at our menu. We weren't ready to order. Our drink order arrived. We had a question about one of the combos. We received our answer and was told that the ¼ chicken was sold out. We asked for another minute before we ordered. We ordered a couple of appetizers and our meals. Our server returned a few minutes later. They were out of a couple more entrée selections. We had to choose something else. Our server returned and we ordered our alternatives. We asked about our appetizers and were told that the order was never placed, our server was waiting for our complete order. Disappointed, we cancelled our appetizer order.
Our server was polite and attentive. She was new and apologized for the mistake. The missed appetizers were most likely due to a lack of experience and/or training by management. It’s also disappointing to be at a restaurant at 6:30pm on a Saturday night and find a few main entrée items unavailable. It may be expected to run out of the “special of the day” but you can’t run out of 3 main entrées.
We received our meals promptly and everything was hot and delicious. I’m sure we’ll go back but hopefully they’ll have...
Read moreMy husband and I stopped in the other day after an appointment in the area and I have to say that we were absolutely thrilled with everything! From the moment we walked in the doors to the moment we left we were treated like we were the only ones in the room! The staff was friendly, helpful, and professional at every level. The food was almost indescribable! We enjoyed the steak and ribs and they were the best ever! If I had anything at all to say that was remotely negative it would be that my steak was a tiny bit overcooked but that is probably because I like it still mooing rare and most places cook it a bit too long for me so I will be clearer in my communication next visit. Everything else was perfect. We loved it so much that we are making a special trip to Lewiston again today to get us some of their sensational ribs! We are planning our 25th anniversary and have decided that we will be hiring the Pit Bar & Grill to cater our event because of their exceptional service and their...
Read moreWe had take out for the 5th or 6th time tonight and once again we were not disappointed- the ribs and brisket were great! Another review mentioned the up charges which I saw posted on the website menus as well as in the restaurant. Quality costs money and prices have risen considerably during the pandemic- I want to see business come out the other side of this thing so if I need to pay more to help make that happen, I get it. Anyway, what I really want to review is the banana pudding! OMG why aren’t more people talking about this? If your too full, which you will be from the portion of meat, get it to go! Have you ever had Magnolia Bakery banana pudding? If you have you know they sell millions of units a year of the stuff and are considered the best- well... The Pit should market their BP because I think it’s better! Light fluffy, the nila wafers are buttery sweet with a hint of salty from the butter- seriously- don’t leave without it... I’ll be craving this...
