I should have done this a long time ago. Before I even talk about the table I purchased from Maine Home Recreation, let me say a few words about Shane and Allison. Shane and Allison are two of the most unselfish people I have ever met. The only thing that matters to them is you. They care only about your experience and happiness from the moment you first contact them. From the time stamp on the pictures that I will include, you will understand immediately what I mean. Writing this review and looking at these pictures, it makes me feel like I was the selfish one for having Shane and Allison in my home on Christmas Eve. Christmas Eve, working. Let me be more clear. I had purchased my Connelly Catalina from them in September. They had come out and installed the 9' table upstairs and done a complete and astonishing job. I seem to also remember Allison carrying all three of the slate pieces up flights of stairs....yea, she's a bad-ass. I had been playing on it for over 2 months when i noticed that from the settling on the carpet, the table had developed a very small, and I mean VERY small pitch to one side. Shane and Allison told me that this could happen because the table was being placed on carpet and that if something were to change on the levelness of the table, that they would come back by and make some adjustments, and help make the table true again. I would never had said anything about it at all, except that Shane called me to follow up on my experience with the table and I mentioned it to him. This is when I tell you that Shane and Allison found the time from their schedule to come and work on the table. The time they found, came on Christmas Eve. It wasn't long after they arrived here, they found that the adjustment they needed to make was best served doing the right way. They could have moved a shim and called it good. Instead they took up the felt, stripped their previous work and gave the slate a true level again...on Christmas Eve. When everyone was with their family, when everyone was supposed to take time for themselves, they were here in my home, working for no fee. The only thing they would accept was some Baklava. As I type this I feel ashamed of myself for allowing this, even more shame for not telling of this sooner than today. Shane and Allison, thank you for your unceasing pursuit of satisfaction. I would never purchase anything recreation related without contacting you. If given the option, I will not do business with any others. I love my Connelly Catalina. It plays beautifully. To anyone out there looking to do business with Maine Home Recreation, look at those time stamps on the pictures, and ask yourself...would anyone else that you could do business with be in your home on Christmas Eve to ensure your continued satisfaction? You guys are the paragon of customer service, and I'm grateful for everything. Respectfully...

When I first decided to buy a pool table I did a lot of research. When researching I came across Maine Home Recreation’s website. Their website contained objective and well written reviews on many pool brands. I found this information to be some of the most helpful information available in making an informed purchasing decision. Shane was very helpful in answering questions about features, table construction, and room size requirements. Having someone this knowlegible was educational for me and also helped in deciding the brand of table to purchase (Connelley). When I met Shane and Allison they were just as professional in person as they had been in my online correspondence and telephone calls. When they installed my table they were on time, professional, and excellent in explaining and showing how a table is assembled correctly. The quality of their work is at the top and they stand behind their installations with service afterwards, if required. I am still amazed how Shane and particularly Allison, moved the 1.25” slate from their company truck, down the walkway, up a flight of stairs, down the hall and into the gameroom! No easy feat. We live in the Portland area and were really pleased to find such a knowledgeable, responsive, and fairly priced company that provides such a high level of service. These days, when I interact with a new business, I'm jaded to the point where I just assume that the process will go badly, I won't be treated with respect or get good customer service, they'll try to cheat me out of money, etc. I definitely don't expect a business to go above and beyond with exemplary customer service. That's why it's so refreshing when you come across a place like Maine Home Recreation. I bought a used pool table and where I think most places would try to make the process complicated, and then solve those complications by adding additional fees (delivery, installation, new felt, pool cues, balls, rack, etc.) instead MHR took care of everything for one very fair price. They even provided me with extras that they didn't need to but I was very happy to have. They were very responsive and it was clear they just wanted to make me happy through the whole process.
