I recently had an extremely disappointing experience at The Human Bean, which has compelled me to share this review. The unprofessionalism exhibited by both the owner and the general manager is deeply concerning and has significantly impacted the overall atmosphere of the establishment. From the moment I entered, it was evident that the staff were under immense pressure. The owner and general manager openly berated employees in front of customers, creating an uncomfortable and hostile environment. Such behavior not only undermines the staff’s confidence but also reflects poorly on the establishment’s leadership. Moreover, their treatment of customers is equally appalling. When I raised a concern about my order, I was met with dismissiveness and rudeness from the management. Instead of addressing the issue professionally, they seemed irritated by my feedback and made no effort to rectify the situation. The managers name was Juan. It’s disheartening to see leaders who lack basic respect and courtesy towards both their employees and patrons. I hope they recognize the detrimental impact of their actions and take steps to improve their conduct. Until then, I cannot in good conscience recommend The Human Bean to anyone seeking a pleasant dining experience. Or even employment here if that’s what and who you’re gonna be working...
Read moreGlad I decided to try them out. Right away I liked that the drinks I ordered were actually laced with some real scrumptious coffee instead of just milk and sugar bombs.
Tried the lattes and loved them, heavenly balance of coffee and cream. BUT THEN...I discovered what a "granita" is and that they offer it as a LOW CARB version! Mocha or Vanilla flavors, baby.
SUGAR FREE does not always mean low carb, but low carb is what I want and they got it, plus can make it decaf or half-caff, too, AND it is automatically made with breve. Finding this, I know I will never head back to a Starbucks or 151Coffee again. At the Human Bean, I can have it all!
TIP: For others as ignorant as I was, breve is the fancified word for half & half, and a granita is what I'm told non-native Texans call their frappuccino's or ice blended beverages, lol. Weird, I know :-)
Their team members are always the nicest and totally eager to educate us if we ask. They already have my order preferences memorized, too. I really look forward to seeing their calm, sincerely friendly faces in the morning...and sometimes in the...
Read moreUpdate: tried the shaken? Espresso. Omg!! Loved it! Woulda been better with pistachio 😉! Original review: I passed by here so many times and finally stopped. Only place in town to get a really good, hot latte. The staff has always been great and remember me! They will customize your coffee to your satisfaction. I used to love 151 but they don't have a half and half option, only their breve which could have all kinds of chemicals in it and it's so sweet. The pistachio and vanilla latte here at The Human Bean had me at hello. So good and only place to get it. My son loves their matcha and other drinks. My only complaint is that changed the happy hour where you have to get 2 drinks instead of half price. I would literally drive across town 5 miles, but now I don't. When I'm on that side of town I always stop in whatever time of day, but don't make special trips anymore. Never met the guy in the beanie so not sure he exists lol. Since that reviewer mentions nasty chemical processed coffee beans, watered down Starbucks and gross Dutch whatever, they must be jealous employees of one of...
