I was in this restaurant/bar on Monday 05/24/2021. I was with some friends and we were enjoying ourselves. We ordered a few hookahs and a plethora of drinks. After a few drinks I decided it was time to order food. The server/bartender Ari informed us that the kitchen was closing at 9pm. At this point it was 8:40 so I ordered the cheese fries. She dropped off the fries and immediately I regretted the decision. The “cheese fries” were literally French fries with halfway melted shredded cheese on top. I told the bartender that the cheese fries were not what I expected and that I didn’t want them (I wish I had taken a picture of the fries). I was expecting at the least cheese fries similar to the type you would get at Chili’s or any other bar and grill. She kindly apologized and took them back to the kitchen. A few minutes later she returned and informed us that we would still have to pay for the food. She offered to bring them back for us to eat, but nobody in my party was interested in eating them. She was highly empathetic and although she never voiced it, I could tell that she had no control over this decision. At this point I was very upset. I’ve worked in the service industry and dined at many restaurants/bars and have never had anyone tell me anything like this. I hadn’t taken a single bite of the food before returning it. The only reason I stayed was because I was with a group playing pool and the two bartenders Ari and Destiny were sweet and attentive to everyone in our group (I kept myself from becoming upset with them because I have worked as a server and I know they had no control over removing the food item from my tab). Ultimately I came out of pocket for $5 cheese fries that I did not eat and wouldn’t advise anyone to EVER order. On top of that everyone in my group nearly slipped and fell multiple times during my visit because the floor was so slick and slippery. Even the two bartenders working that night were slipping as they delivered drinks and hookahs the entire evening. The bar itself is nice and the two girls working were great, but I would not return to this establishment because of the way my food situation...
Read moreJust left and sadly disappointed. This was my 3rd or 4th time going to Hizzys and normally I enjoy myself. It's not the typical crowd of a place I would normally hang, but it's close and a good place to meet a friend for a drink and some hookah and catch up. Tonight my friend and I went and ordered our regular burger meal, hookah, and a drink. The lady there tonight was so cold towards us the whole time. We asked for a little mint in the hookah as we always do, but this time it tasted like straight mint. The hookah was also not smoking good so we asked for it to be changed, I mentioned that it was too minty but she didn't offer to change it. It still did not smoke good so we didn't use it (a waste of $20). It honestly took almost 30 minutes to receive our food and when she brought out, she didn't bring any silverware or napkins. I actually had to spread my mustard and mayo on my burger with my drink straw. She passed by our table constantly without even looking our way. Never once asked if we needed anything or new coal for the hookah. I tried to get her attention by saying "excuse me ma'am," but she totally acted like she didn't hear me. I actually had to flag down the guy so I could get a to go box because I was so annoyed by her lack of service to us. I've had a great experience with a younger female server there, she was really fun and nice, and the guy that's usually behind the bar but does everything else as well, is always nice. I was looking forward to another chill night at Hizzys with my homegirl, but unfortunately had to cut it short because I was so disgusted by how rude the woman's vibe was towards us. I doubt I'll...
Read moreThey need better service in general. I got treated horribly at this establishment!!! I came here for my friends birthday and she called and said she was coming for her 19th birthday and they said it was fine. We get and they wanted to kick us out because not everyone was 21 or older. Mind you there were other people who were under 21 and they didn’t say anything to them. I order chips and queso and it was nasty. I told my server Anu and she said okay let me see what they can do. Then someone else (the manager)comes over and asked me why I didn’t like it and eventually took it off. I tried to order a drink and was told by Anu, Clara, and the manager that I couldn’t have the drink at the table because of the other people I was with being under age. They don’t even do that at restaurants. I go drink at the bar and ordered a Long Island ice tea. The first problem was that my Long Island ice tea looked like coke. I told the guy behind the bar (the manager) that I didn’t like and he asked me why and I didn’t like it and I told him he didn’t make it right. He agrees to take it off with the stipulation that I have to close my tab. I close my tab and come back to my table only to see my server bring a drink to a table with underage people after they refused to serve me a drink for being with people under age. After I called my server (Anu) out she then tried to get a drink but I refused and left. I would never come back to this place nor...
