Restaurant was clean, one star alone for that.
Service was extremely slow for a Wednesday night. Was told a 20-35 minute wait, wait was 40 minutes. No big deal really, except then it took an hour from ordering to get our food.
We were celebrating my daughter's 18th birthday, and she really wanted pancakes and grits. They kindly subbed grits for eggs in the pancake platter, which is for the second star.
The rest of the food was just slow, due to only having one cook. I would have liked if they had informed us that it could be an hour wait with only a few tables sat. Also, if kids are present, and it takes an hour for food, and biscuits normally come with the meal for them- perhaps offer to bring a biscuit out for them ahead of the meal- especially since all the table-top games have been removed that would normally help with long wait times.
Service was subpar. Had to ask for basics constantly- such as a drink refill in obviously empty glasses, ketchup for fries, jelly and butter for biscuits even though the menu says it's part of "all the fixings". And then we were brought only 2 jelly packets for 6 biscuits. A decent server would have handled the entire service differently.
Two stars, a bad birthday meal, and a promise we probably won't waste the money coming back. The food, when it finally comes, was overall good. Such a shame the service...
Read moreWe decided to try the Thanksgiving Meal from Cracker Barrel and celebrated a little early on November 23, 2024. This occasion held special significance as it might be the last time three family members gather for this holiday, given their age and health issues. Having never ordered a family meal kit before, we were eager to experience Cracker Barrel's offerings, especially since we typically savor our dining experiences at their restaurant.
Upon opening the delivery, our first impression was that it was packaged impressively in a robust, well-organized box. However, once we began to unpack, we were disappointed by the size of the side dishes, which left us with no chance for leftovers this year.
Ultimately, our experience was disheartening. This was by far the worst meal we've ever had from Cracker Barrel, and frankly, the worst I’ve prepared for guests. The turkey was overly dry, while the stuffing seemed more like cubed bread soaked in water - a soggy mess devoid of flavor, with an odd smell to boot. Everything tasted bland and lacked any seasoning, and even the dinner rolls could have passed for rocks. None of us managed to finish a full plate.
The silver lining? Cleanup was a breeze; we simply tossed it all...
Read moreWhere do I start!!! It was absolutely the worst visit I've ever had at cracker barrel. We called ahead to say we were coming with 20 people and they said sorry but they don't take reservations. So we ended up waiting 30 minutes or more. We finally get in and we're seated at 2 tables side by side. The waitresses came to both tables at the same time to get drink and appetizer orders. Our waitress brought our drinks and a basket of biscuits. The other table didn't get anything. She came back 10 minutes later with our appetizers and second basket of biscuits. Still the other table didn't even have their drinks. Finally their waitress starts to walk buy and they stop her to complain. It still takes several minutes before they get drinks. We got our food and to go boxes before the other table could eat. My niece got a grilled cheese plate and it was burnt black. Manager took it back and even took it off the ticket, he did bring another one. I had what was suppose to be chicken and dumplings, I think I found 3 tiny pieces of chicken. Our waitress didn't bother to ask who was paying for what so she put it all on one ticket. The cashier said she couldn't separate it and had to get a manager to help her. It was an...
