Farm Market has authentic crafted Mexican food that is memorable, a small piece of food heaven. When you arrive, it feels as if you’ve traveled through a portal into Mexico. Welcome to your vacation. The atmosphere is magical and the staff is a family which creates an incredibly comfortable and welcoming experience. My partner and I ate at Farm Market on our way back to Asheville, a foodie destination—when we got home we couldn’t wait to go back to Lexington, for their tamales! Literally, one weekend we were like, ok let's just drive there for the night, eat tamales and drive home tomorrow. We recently did go back with the whole family on the long weekend. I called and made a reservation, and everything was perfect. Their guacamole is holy! Everything on the menu is fantastic-- we tried everything! Try the flan, eat the flan. I hide the left over tamales in the vegetable drawer to protect them (savior) for lunch the next day. Completely unnecessary ... and totally understandable. They have a selection of Mexican sodas, beautiful craft art, and very well priced outdoor potted flowers. Farm Market is filled with joy that radiates into their food and dining experience. I’ve traveled around the world, and this is one of my favorite restaurant ever. I dream about their food. A total bonus they are 100% Gluten Free! They also have the coolest Pinatas I've ever seen. Basically, if I could have a meal with anyone dead it would be Frida, and it would be at Farm Market. A++

Food is decent. Apparently the overwhelming majority of the reviews here come from individuals who have very limited experience in what concerns “authentic” Mexican food. They are easily impressed by the unusual decor . The meat served separately for the chicken tacos was shredded and MICROWAVED (not the usual grilled kind). They know how to make money 😉. The ladies very nice. Store is VERY different. Price was a way too high for a bottle of Coke and four chicken tacos. Will I ever visit again? Definitely not. Way too expensive. $22 is outrageous regardless of how bad the inflation is. No wonder why no one walked in while I was here (approx 35 minutes). Bottom line ; The place is waaaay overpriced and overrated. A very ingenious way of making good/ easy money. Gotta give it to the women working here. Forgot to mention one thing ; Ladies, do NOT ask for a tip prior to service being provided. Tip is not MANDATORY. American consumer is definitely not much educated.

On our drive from Ohio to Tennessee, I found this #3 highest ranking restaurant on Yelp. We were not dissappointed. The parking is the only confusing thing. But the staff and the food was great. The restaurant/store outside is brightly colored, but the inside is a giant splash of color. Found out from the son-in-law, that his mother-in-law makes the food and the pinatas in the store!!!! What??? Not only is her food amazing, full over great Mexican flavors, but she handmakes the pinatas too? What a talented lady. Anyway, we had tamales: pork, chicken, and jalapeno cheese covered the verde sauce and cheese. Yummmmm. Carnitas torta and black beans. Also had to try the homemade corn tortillas. They were out, light and a little crunch on top. This is a place I would come to over and over again. This has to be a best kept secret in Lexington.

I saw the big sign saying “Best Tamales in town” and I had to stop by, but I’m guessing that is a self appointed title because Anyone with a good palate would not agree. I ordered the chicken tamale and the jalapeño and bean tamale. The technique for preparing the tamales was done perfectly. The tamales were soft and moist and cooked just right. The chef I’m guessing has a lot of talent and experience in the craft. But let me tell you when I say that the lack of flavor made me feel so much further from the Mexican cuisine than ever before, maybe President Trump already built the wall and blocked all the flavors from coming into the states. I do have to give props to the smoky spicy salsa they had, it did help stuff down the tamales a little. So it’s probably best to change the big sign up front to “best mediocre tamales on this street corner”.

The restaurant owner is very kind and friendly and the food was delicious, authentic but the presentation was not good and way overpriced. I ordered 2 tamales, a side of beans and rice and a bottle of Mexican soda, came out to $20. I could hear the microwave beeping from the dining area and thought to myself, is that my food? I seated myself, grabbed my own disposable utensils and napkins, no service, literally. The food was brought out and slightly microwave burned. Look, I was hungry… I ate it, it’s authentic and delicious but the presentation was “no bueno”. My beans and rice were still in the plastic container they were zapped in and served in disposable plates and bowls. The salsa was good…would I come back, probably not. It’s way overpriced and not for microwaved food.

So good 😭 My partner and I were dying to try Farm Market but we hadn't found the time to drive over during their limited lunch hours. Finally we were in the area and it was lunchtime. We passed it. It dawned on us. And then I U-turned faster than... uh... faster than I ate these tamales. (Fast.) We had the bean tamales and cheese tamales and needless to say, we weren't disappointed. The care that the chef takes with her food is so evident. And it was great to have two vegetarian options! If you're looking for a diner vibe, this won't be for you. But if you're looking for great food, yes, it IS for you! Please excuse my low-quality photo, I'm hoping to update it soon.
