If you're new to the area or just love sushi, this NEEDS to be your go-to spot for dine in or take out. We've been trying all the sushi places in our area of Lexington and this is BY FAR the best one for quality, presentation, cost, and service. We've done take out here a couple times so far and we just came to dine in and we will probably dine in more often than not going forward! The place may not look very big from the outside but it has a great atmosphere inside and is a fantastic option. They also have Gluten free options and Gluten free soy sauce as well. You won't regret it! I'll be telling everyone about this place and coming back often. Update July 2025: They're still our #1 restaurant and go to in Lexington! We're moving out of state, but every time we come back, you bet we'll be eating here. They're amazing, still offer great gluten free options, and they're very accommodating. They updated their inside aesthetic too, it's so cute! I added more photos to show the updated inside.

This is our favorite sushi place, although we’ve only dined in once. We always get takeout (they used to offer 50% off for takeout, but now it’s only 30% off- I guess times are tough. But the upside is it’s 30% off dine in and takeout now.) When you get takeout, you’ll be shocked at how tightly they pack the rolls in the containers- they definitely don’t waste a centimeter of space. The rolls are smallish, but I like that because it gives me the opportunity to try several of them each time we order. Ingredients are always fresh and good quality. They have some interesting flavor combos in their special rolls, but we can make a great meal out of their regular rolls and some miso soup. My parents don’t like sushi, so they get the hibachi meals, and they’ve always enjoyed them. (I don’t think there are at-table hibachi chefs if you dine in, though, fyi). Sesame balls or fried bananas are amazing for dessert, too!

I was pleasantly surprised by the offerings at Happy Sushi. Though I think it’s funny that they advertise 30% off all sushi (I.e. mark up price in the menu and then say it’s 30% off — the reason they got a 4 instead of 5), the sushi is good and they also have a variety of other Chinese and Japanese menu items. My wife got the “Tofu Skin” poké bowl (which really is just a sliced up Inari Sushi wrapping). She was very happy with it. I tried the “Sushi Pizza,” a concoction of fried flour tortilla topped with spicy tuna, spicy crab, jalapeños and a few other things. Impressively tasty!! Service was great and they even brought us “on the house” harumaki (fried egg rolls). We will go back.

I cannot rave enough about Happy Sushi! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and an inviting atmosphere that immediately made me feel at home. The ambiance is vibrant yet cozy, perfectly blending modern elegance with a traditional Japanese feel.

Now, let’s talk about the food—absolutely phenomenal! Every dish was a masterpiece, crafted with care and the freshest ingredients. The sushi rolls were beyond incredible, each one bursting with flavor and beautifully presented like a work of art. The sashimi was melt-in-your-mouth fresh, and you could truly taste the quality in every bite.

The menu has such an amazing variety that there’s something for everyone. Whether you're a sushi lover or trying it for the first time, you’ll find the perfect dish. Their signature rolls were out of this world, and the creativity in their combinations left me wanting more.

What really stood out to me was the impeccable service. The staff was attentive, friendly, and truly passionate about ensuring a top-notch dining experience. They took the time to explain the dishes and even recommended a few options based on my preferences, which turned out to be spot-on!

I left Happy Sushi with a full belly and a happy heart. It’s rare to find a restaurant where every aspect—from the food to the service to the ambiance—aligns so perfectly. If you’re in the mood for sushi that’s beyond exceptional, Happy Sushi is an absolute must-visit. Trust me, you will not be...

One of the best places to have sushi in Lexington. They have unlimited sushi which is an amazing deal. I have never found a place in Lexington which offers unlimited Sushi.

The lunch deals are pretty frugal and money saving. You can get lunch specials for $15 and dinner specials for around $22. The lunch specials won't have the entire menu but it is a very good deal for $15.

Make sure to eat the entire items that you are getting because you need to pay for the items that are not eaten. It makes sense because they don't want you to order too much and waste food.

Gyoza is my favorite appetizer. I usually get at least 3 plates of Gyozas. Seaweed salad is a yummy appetizer too. Shumai is pretty decent.

Californian roll is the safe one to get if you don't know what you want. They have inidividual sushi's too which would be great to try if you don't know what kind of rolls you like. Unagi (Eel) is my favorite.

They also have Sushi special appetizers (Dinner specials only) Tuna Tataki is my favorite. Also be aware that special Sushi appetizers take a little longer to prepare if they are busy.

They have 3 kinds of desserts and I usually get the green tea icecream. Give this place a try if you want to try all kinds of Sushi for a...

My review is based on the all-you-can-eat menu, I haven't tried the à la carte menu, so I don't know the differences there. I've been here about 5 times now, and had a pretty consistent experience each time. The menu is fairly diverse. Decent sushi selection. No crazy unique rolls, but a good enough selection. The sashimi selection is pretty good, and better quality than I expected from an AYCE place in a strip mall. Very good variety of appetizers. Try the pork belly buns! Great service! Better than expected for this style of place. The servers typically know the menu well, and are happy to share their recommendations and favorites if you need guidance. Today's server noticed my 9yo struggling with chopsticks, so he brought over a homemade set of cheatersticks, held together with rubber bands. That was a nice touch. If I had to nitpick, I would ask them to get new markers for the dry-erase menu that you order from. The ones at every table seem to be unusably bad. Other than that, this is a great meal for...
