9 times out of 10, when I disagree with an overall rating of a place, I just think “well, people have different opinions”. This is not one of those times. I can’t believe people are happy to pay what they’re paying for what is essentially a concrete motel in a strip mall. It’s mind boggling. This place costed us about $175 a night ($225 with dog fee). It’s funny, because they do have a few tiny things that could trick a robot into thinking it’s above the absolute baseline of quality, like a dog treat bowl at the entrance (none offered to us btw). I sent them an email to supply feedback, but in fitting with their subpar establishment and service, they didn’t reply.
Some feedback points I sent:
No free water. Anywhere. Even the vending machine is out of water, so our only option is the ridiculous water display in the room, at an insane $4 a bottle. You must be joking, it’s not even cold.
Poor quality furnishings and pointless things filling the rooms. I mean the water display is definitely the worst part, but why would we need a giant desk/cabinet taking up so much space and so poorly made, it’s bizarre. You can’t open the (tiny and warm) fridge without trapping your hand in the cabinet door every time. There’s also a huge leather chair that looks like it’s never been used, I wonder why….
Cups. The only available cups are those tiny horrible plastic ones (maybe a way to help you more quickly regret your $4 water bottle purchase) and two paper coffee cups. If you’re going to do this cheap airbnb aesthetic at least offer non-disposable cups.
Awful curtains. The curtains are thick and patterned (like an airbnb), but you can’t block out the light with them because of the rail design. As soon as the sun comes up the whole room is filled with light, feels like a pretty basic one for a hotel.
$50 dog fee. We have a tiny 5lb dog that has her own bed and won’t touch anything. Clearly it’s not going to cost you $50 to clean up after her, and honestly I doubt it’s ever costed $50, it’s another cash grab and people will know that.
Not dog friendly. You have so many signs up about dog friendliness, but actually, you are charging an insane fee (not very friendly to me) and there is nothing available for dogs to use in the rooms. No bowl, no bed, no dog bags, nothing.
Elevators are horrible. They’re slow, they creak and they’re dirty. Also there are no signs for the stairs, so people can’t even easily make the choice to avoid the terrifying elevator experience if they want to.
I suggested that they get feedback from customers, because I think if pressed they could improve their service. We will not be returning, and I suggest you proceed...
Read moreVery disappointed is an understatement. If I could leave zero stars I would…Being a native of Lexington I expect better. Especially since the price of this room is OUTRAGEOUS for what you actually get. Luckily I booked through my membership with hotels.com to avoid the usual $270+ nightly weekend rate I was quoted at the front desk. To start, there was a malfunction at the front desk and we couldn't get a key to our room that worked until day 2, which meant all of the first day we had to have the front desk walk us to and open the room. All guests experienced the same issue. So, on the 3 different occasions that we left and returned, we had to wait in line for over 20 minutes until the front desk could step away and walk us to the room like toddlers. One of those times we were in a small group so now everyone in our group knew exactly what room each other was staying in - very intrusive. On day 2 I decided to ask the front desk if they could compensate in some way for the inconvenience…they smiled, laughed a bit and said “well sir, the system was only down for 2 hours yesterday” now…this is unfortunate because this was a bold lie directly to my face. Just wow! Moving on to breakfast to try and keep this as brief as possible…My friend and I (being former bartenders and service industry workers for 10+ years) were appalled by the conditions and service. There were numerous bugs flying and a fruit fly trap on the countertop within arms reach of our drinks. My friend then noticed mouse droppings on the bar countertop!!! The staff did not care at all and seemed irritated anytime we talked to them. What makes this worse is that my friend already left a review (I stole some segments from his review btw) and the GM of the hotel who was NOT ON SITE to our knowledge completely denied any wrongdoing or cleanliness issues by the staff and hotel without actually witnessing it…but don’t worry!! We snapped a couple of photos for proof which you can find on my hotels.com review!! SHAME ON YOU to the GM for disregarding a customer's comments and concerns and for also CLEARLY not inspecting your own property before you speak on it. My advice: retrain your staff, get a system that is functional with backup plans in place in case of an error and clean your lobby & bar area like people will be eating and...
Read moreI stayed overnight with my four year old grandson, and we both enjoyed ourselves. There was a tent set up for him to sleep in and there was a sweet little gift for him as well. The fun rotating galaxy lamp was a great touch, and he requested one for his birthday. I did move the tent from where it had been set up near the bathroom and room door onto his bed. It fit fine, was a safer option and he was cozy and comfortable all night. The restaurant was nice, although there needs to be kid friendly fare (with accompanying wallet friendly prices), rather than having to spend $18 for him to have a burger. Additionally, while I found the fries to be very tasty, they were too peppery/spicy for him, so his went uneaten. If you are serving a child, and do not offer child menu options, it would be helpful if servers asked if modifications were needed, i.e spice levels. Everyone we came into contact with were friendly and polite.|My only other issue is that when I checked in, I was not told there would be an added $50 charge to the room for incidentals. I was confused when the charge came through, and thought maybe it was very steep fees/tax, but afterward it dropped off and the price of just the room came through. So, just be sure to point that out at check in. Otherwise, my grandson and I enjoyed ourselves and he would...
