Made 2 visits so far. Both ended with misunderstanding, and the owner sold different items than what I anticipated.
The first time, I specifically asked for a kids' meal and smaller portion. He said a grill cheese menu. It turned out to be a full dinner size grilled cheese, and it was twice more expensive than I expected. Upon complaining. He said, "Look, this is a dinner size, and it is an appropriate price for that. Did not mention my initial request for a kids' meal.
The second time was today, I was hoping to get a chicken sandwich. And I asked what is in chicken stir fry sandwich and he said it is teriyaki chicken with vegetables and salad and I said I will take it. When I got the food, it was a teriyaki chicken dinner plate. I told him that i ordered chicken sandwich. He said he took all that busy time to prepare the food and trying to work it out (meaning he is asking me to take the food TBH)
Then, he said pay full price for the rice dinner plate (which i didn't want and was 6 dollars more expensive than what i initially was going to order) and he can turn the meat into sandwich if I pay additional 2 dollars for the bread. Well, I didn't want to argue, so i took the food and paid for the full price of dinner plate with additional food that I probably won't eat.
Bottom line, food itselfi think is on a good side(chicken on a dryer side though), but I've been here only twice, and both ended with misunderstanding and got menu I didn't want.
In other restaurants, when the owner misunderstood the customer, they were willing to rectify. This owner is different. He is just interested in his own money and cares only the effort that he took in rather than customers' needs.
He sold more expensive food/bigger portion food than I initially requested. I can only see it as a tactic to sell more...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been a long time customer of this mediocre sandwich shop. I like to support local businesses. Recently, I was diagnosed with a food allergy to cabbage. I called ahead when ordering a salad and asked if it could come without cabbage. (By the way, not a standard ingredient in a lot of salads). Not only did the owner tell me ānoā and āhis son Hates purple cabbage, but he doesnāt care, purple cabbage is everywhere.ā I went ahead and paid for the salad because it came with the sandwich I wanted, but when I went to pick it up, without complaining at all, the owner came out again and made sure to shame me for asking to remove the cabbage, he said ā Too bad it has cabbage. I donāt care.ā I paid and left, Well, I donāt care to ever patronize this rude establishment ever again. You just lost a 2 to 3 year customer, and I plan to tell everyone I know about how rude you are. Itās pretty shameful that you serve salads that are premixed, filled with cheap filler, and cannot make a fresh order salad for a loyal customer, let alone making them feel bad for it. Youāre in the food industry, have you never heard of a dietary restriction? You donāt care? Would you care if you salad placed me in the hospital? How are you even in business? I expect to see a sale sign on your door in the next year: Hopefully a better (Basically, easy to run salad/sandwich) restaurant moves in because your job aināt that hard. And itās certainly not hard enough...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was excited to try this place for the first time, but the poor customer service ruined the experience.
I called ahead to order, and when I arrived, I waited at the register. One employee saw me but ignored me, calling another customer over instead. No greeting, no āIāll be right with youāānothing. After checking out that customer, they brought food for someone else and still ignored me.
I stood there, waiting to be acknowledged, but no one said a word. Frustrated, I walked out. Great reviews canāt make up for such bad serviceāI...
