I really can't say enough positive things about the UPS store in Arlington! They go above and beyond in every aspect.
I'm currently dealing with a very difficult death in the family and needed to get probate forms notarized printed out signed and mailed ASAP. Chris helped me with everything, he printed the documents for me, notarized the documents and helped me pack everything up to mail it. When I realized that I forgot to sign something within the packet, he pleasantly reassures me and took time reprinting stickers and giving me a new envelope to mail everything. I was under enormous stress and he was there to be helpful and considerate! I really appreciate him. I'm disabled and have difficulty standing and one of the clerks at the office also gave me his chair so that I didn't have to stand for the entire time. The kindness and consideration here by all staff is so appreciated.
And the owner is fantastic as well. A few weeks prior to this I had a weird situation arise with a package that was delivered by UPS to my home. Basically my tracking sticker for a bistro set from Overstock somehow wound up on someone else's package with a comforter set from The Company Store. So I received a notification that my package was delivered, but it wasn't actually my parcel.
Initially I called Overstock to try to resolve the issue because I thought they would call UPS and get them to track down my actual package. But a language barrier between their customer service agent and I led me in a downward spiral to customer support Hades. No matter how many times I explained the situation the customer service agent could not understand that I needed them to contact UPS to find my package.
So I hung up and called UPS. That led me into another circle of automated phone call Hades. The system would not let me talk to a customer service representative without entering my tracking number but when I entered my tracking number it would tell me my package had been delivered and when I said I wanted to report a problem it would ask me for my tracking number and repeat the cycle. I could not get to a customer service agent and when I finally did they did not understand what I was talking about and were unhelpful.
So since I only live a short distance from the UPS store in Arlington I thought it would make sense to just go to the UPS store in person and explain things and see if they couldn't track down my actual package and get the package I had to the correct person as well.
Thank goodness I did because the owner, Laurie, took the time to listen to my predicament and call UPS to expedite the issue. She even called the other customer to let them know that we had her package and ask her to let her know if she received mine. Lori went above and beyond to make sure that my situation was properly explained to UPS so that I was able to get my package located and escalated the claim so that it was redelivered that evening. She even offered to forward the incorrect package I had received on to the proper recipient as well. Without Laurie's assistance, I would have been trapped in a turbulent customer service sea of stupid spending the next week on customer service phone calls but Laurie served as the captain that navigated me through choppy water to safe shores. She went above and beyond because the UPS store is not UPS it's a mailing solution store affiliated with UPS but not a UPS center. They could have just told me to call UPS and sent me away but they did not. They went the extra mile to make sure that the problem was solved and that makes them worth their...
Read moreAs others have noted--the staff here is unusually efficient and helpful, and pre-pandemic, this was absolutely my go-to UPS store, especially for notary. That said, the three times I've walked in since Arlington created its mask requirements--each time thinking, certainly by now, they will have instituted a mask policy--I've found the staff more-or-less mask-less. As the evidence piles up that the easiest way to catch COVID is by breathing in air that others--who may or may not know themselves to be infected--are breathing out while in indoor spaces, this is dangerous. The main guy who I always see working the desk in the afternoon (who I think is also the notary) takes off his mask to talk on the phone, to talk to customers, and just kind of keeps it under his nose even when it's "on". Taking it on and off just means the air in the store is filled with whatever he's breathing out. Customers whose identities need to be checked are asked to remove their masks--not outdoors behind glass, but right there in the store. There is often another staff person walking in and out with packages completely maskless. The last time I was there, one of the guys who did have a mask on had a full enough beard that the mask was not really sitting on his face or covering anything useful. And I've seen at least one customer walk in uncovered, and no one said anything. If you're someone who is at high risk, you may want to find another shop until the...
Read moreI have been going to this Arlington UPS Store location for many years, and thought I had developed a friendly, helpful relationship with the owner/manager of the store. She has assisted me with my returns, printing jobs, and faxes over the years. Then when I had a lost return package, I spoke to UPS for an hour to resolve it. They said there is nothing they can do, that it wasn't their problem, and that I need to speak with the UPS Store where I made the return. I went in to speak with the manager/ owner about the issue, and she said I needed to speak with UPS about it, that it wasn't her problem. I explained that I spent an hour on the phone with UPS and they made me come to the store. I begged her to please call UPS with me and help me to resolve the problem, and she steadfastly refused to make the call or to help me, and passed me over to help the next customer. I do not know what the point is of developing a personal relationship, over YEARS with this store, when they offer ZERO help when I have an actual issue to resolve. I have gone to this store for YEARS. I will NEVER...
