We recently discovered JY Kitchen, although they've been in business since 2018. Sincerely, this small place is spectacularly good: everything we've had has been pretty much the best example of every such dish. The Beef Bulgogi, the Creamy Crab Egg Roll (basically their Crab Rangoon), the Spicy Pork (my gosh that sauce is exquisitely good!), and the list goes on. Even so, the Pancake with Shrimp and Zucchini just knocked us over. The very nice man (of the couple who have the place) tells you not to eat all you want of it, because then you won't be able to eat your entree dish lol (and he's quite right). He said to take the rest home and enjoy it for breakfast, which we did. He's very careful to communicate information about what you've ordered (or are planning to order), such as that it doesn't come spicy unless you want it spicy, and then if you do, he's careful to find out how spicy you want it, and then, after he brings it, he even tells you how many grams of hot spice they put into it (23 grams, for my Bulgogi, which was perfect but which could have been adjusted either way after that to really dial into what a person is comfortable with)! They make everything themselves, down to the miso soup and the amazing gochujang sauce (I've never had better and I'm pretty sure I never will). The wife is the chef, and I think she's a culinary genius (and have told her so). And they're both just so sweet and nice, and are very, very good at what they do. The place isn't fancy, and isn't even obvious as you drive down the street looking for it, but anyone who appreciates tasty authentic Korean food would be wise indeed to make it a point to experience JY Kitchen. Looking forward to trying the next thing on the menu when we go back (but we need to give them a break from us - we've been there about once a week for the last 3 weeks and we live 30...
Read moreOut the gate JY Kitchen knocked it out of the park with a delicious tuna roll and fantastic pan fried dumplings. We followed up the "appetizers", which honestly could have been the beginning and the end because they were so delicious and filling, with bibimbap and jab-chae rice. The dishes came with kimchi and miso soup that was amazing. The kimchi was a little spicy for my wife's taste but perfect for me. She mixed her's into the jab-chae at the owner's suggestion and it complimented it perfectly. Both of our entrees we're incredibly delicious and tasted so fresh. We then had one of each dessert and.... Oh my!!! These alone are worth the visit! If you are in the area and like or want to try Korean food this is the place to come. I wish I lived closer because I would be eating this every week. I would definitely recommend calling ahead and making a reservation. There seating area is...
Read moreWe were sitting outside at a nearby brewery and the food there was going to take an hour to arrive. Saw someone sitting next to us eating some amazing looking ramen and it was from JY Kitchen. We decided to give the place a shot and are so happy we did!
I loved that the ordering process was as simple as texting the order in. Got an immediate reply saying that it would be ready for pick up in about 20 minutes. Also loved that when I went to pick it up they asked if I was going someplace nearby because they were worried that the noodles would get soggy. I thought that demonstrates that they really cared about the quality of their food!
My wife and I both got the basic ramen and it was excellent! The pork dumplings in it were cooked to perfection and all of the ingredients were exceptionally fresh. All of the flavors blended together perfectly and I can’t wait to order from...
