I have celiac disease and am dairy intolerant, so, item descriptions are extremely important to me. I ordered from Salura 12 via Grubhub today. I ordered a spicy yellowtail roll and a spicy white tuna roll. Neither description mentioned that they included crunch made from what was later described to me as being made "from flour". When my sushi arrived and I saw the crunch inside, I immediately called the restaurant. Not only was it like pulling teeth to find out what this ingredient that wasn't included in the descriptions of either item was (& what it was made of), when I asked why they didn't mention that this item made from a common allergen and food many people have an intolerance or sensitivity to when other items DO mention crunch included, the guy actually attempted to deflect responsibility by telling me "all Japanese restaurants include crunch in a spicy roll"-which is a blatant lie. I have ordered spicy rolls from Japanese restaurants all over Lexington, southern California, Portland, Oregon, and Tijuana, Mexico and NEVER was crunch included UNLESS it was mentioned in the menu and I don't remember anywhere else that includes crunch in a basic spicy roll.
These people are irresponsible and negligent in protecting their customers from potentially being poisoned by common allergens and foods of intolerance, liars, and refuse to accept any responsibility, whatsoever, for their actions even so much as just saying "I am sorry about that, we'll fix it immediately". If you eat there and end up being poisoned by an ingredient that was included without being listed, please sue them. They need to learn that they cannot escape culpability by lying or passing the buck to other, innocent and responsible restaurant owners. I cannot begin to express how much angrier I am because their employee chose to lie and pass blame to me by claiming that spicy rolls "always come with crunch" at every Japanese restaurant, like I should have just known that crunch would be included when it wasn't listed as an ingredient....
Read moreI've eaten here 4 times. Each time I received way more food thst I could eat in 1 sitting. A friend went with me the 2nd time. She got the sesame chicken, which was big pieces of chicken, full container of rice and a pork egg roll. All that for$7.95, the special. That evening, I got the filet, shrimp hibatchi style. It had big shrimp, steak, onions, and broccoli on top of the rice and it was so much it was flowing from the container. The 1st time that I visited here to eat, I had sushi. It was fresh and delicious. The 3rd time I ordered General Tsos chicken, the special for $7.95. Again, there was so much food it could have been shared with another. It had large pieces of white meat chicken, plenty of sauce, an egg roll and all on a full container of soft fried rice. Delicious! 4th time, tonight, I ordered the shrimp fried rice. I expected a small fried rice container like most Chinese restaurants give you, but no, it came like an entree. Large, plump shrimp on perfectly fried rice. Came with pork egg roll. I also ordered the pork dumplings, fried. You receive 8 for $5 something. Every order comes with their house sauce, which is a slightly sweet, thick sauce that is devine. The owners always greet you upon entering the store. Everyone is very friendly and they don't have a problem when you need extra sauces. The eat-in area is small but has a number of booths. The restaurant always smells clean and is visually clean and well kept. The drive-through is always busy, but they're efficient to get you through quickly I can't say enough about the food quality or quantity. It's my new favorite place to eat. Don't worry about the other reviews. Could we have had different owners.?.? They are always extremely busy, so many people must agree with me. I'll post some pictures...
