The Starbucks at Willy T is probably one of the busiest spots on campus, but it’s also one of my favorites. It’s the perfect place to grab a drink before studying or hanging out with friends between classes. The line is always long in the mornings, but the baristas are so nice and fast that it never takes too long. I usually get an iced caramel macchiato or a vanilla latte, and they always make it just right. The atmosphere is super cozy and full of energy, with students talking, studying, or rushing to class. I love sitting by the windows with my drink and laptop because it’s the perfect mix of productive and relaxing. Since it’s right inside the library, it’s super convenient for study sessions or late-night caffeine runs. It’s honestly a huge part of the campus experience and one of my favorite spots at UK.
The Starbucks inside the William T. Young Library, or Willy T, is such a staple for UK students. It’s always packed, but that’s part of the fun because you usually run into people you know. The workers are super friendly, even during rushes, and they somehow keep the line moving fast. My go-to order is a pink drink or a caramel ribbon crunch frappuccino, especially when I need something sweet before studying. The space feels really inviting with a mix of people chatting and others quietly doing homework. It’s also a great place to meet up for group projects or take a quick break from classes. I love the smell of coffee that fills the whole area, and it just makes the library feel more alive. Even though it’s always busy, it has a comforting, familiar vibe that makes it my favorite place to refuel on campus.
The Starbucks at Willy T is one of those places that every UK student ends up at eventually. It’s right in the library, so it’s super convenient when you’re studying or just need a caffeine boost to get through the day. The line can get really long, especially in the mornings or around lunchtime, but the staff is so fast and friendly that it’s never a big deal. I love grabbing an iced chai latte or a caramel cold brew and sitting in the study area nearby. The whole place has a busy but comforting atmosphere, with people typing on laptops or chatting before class. It’s also a great spot to see familiar faces and feel like part of the campus community. Even when I’m stressed about school, a drink from Starbucks at Willy T somehow makes the day better. It’s definitely one of my go-to...
Read moreI ordered my drink at 10:08 this morning. Just the perfect time to get to my church which is right across the road by 10:30. However I did not get my coffee til 10:48. I was embarrassed as I had to walk into church 20 minutes late because this sucky Starbucks couldn’t make my one drink. Instead they stood there talking about their crappy weeks and all the stuff they have to do when they are keeping me from all the stuff I have to do. When I went up and asked them where my drink was it was just sitting there on the counter and they were working around it. They said they “forgot” about it and were “getting to it”. That is unacceptable and their “forgetfulness” caused me to be late. Not only did they take 40 minutes to make my one drink but they made it with normal milk instead of oatmilk like I asked. I am very allergic to dairy so this was not just a mess up this was a dietary issue. Left me very mad and I will likely not go back to this Starbucks. How can you not make one simple drink correctly or in a...
Read moreSimply a travesty. I have low expectations for most Starbucks stores at this point. Over the past few years, both their quality of beverage and customer service has gone downhill. This Starbucks leads the way in both of these declining categories. Not only is the service at this location incredibly slow, but they frequently charge you the wrong amount. I've paid upwards of $6 for a small cup of black coffee before, while also paying only $3.50 for a venti Frappuccino. Simply put, the staff doesn't know what they are doing. I'd give them a pass since they are fellow college students, however, they are typically very rude as well. I've had several unpleasant experiences ordering coffee here, and they also lock the doors 3 hours before they close (so they don't have to do their job)... As a cherry on top, the coffee is terrible. Order whatever you want, it doesn't matter... They will mess it up... It's a shame there are no other places to spend Flex than this seemingly...
