University of Kentucky Art Museum — Attraction in Lexington

Very small museum, not a ton of art. They offer free Family Days periodically (once a month?). I've attended twice with my 10yo and 7yo kids. The first time was great, an employee discussed a few peices on display and told us about color theory, after which the kids mixed their own clay colors and made their own sculptures. Wonderful rotating exhibit areas change often, however; the permanent collection has faded over time and shows signs of serious deterioration/lack of proper care, which is quite disappointing.
