As a student at the University of Kentucky, I absolutely love visiting the Gatton Student Center! It is so pretty and clean inside, and the atmosphere is always upbeat, you can feel the school spirit radiating in the air! There are so many great resources available where you can get information about clubs and activities on campus, as well as how to get involved around campus. Also, if you’re looking for a fun space to hang out with friends or just relax, there is a “Cats Den” on the bottom floor, where there are board games available to check out, as well as a ping pong table and an eight-ball pool table. There are also multiple TVs in the area, so you’re able to watch television while hanging out there. However, the Cats Den can also be used to get work done or study, since there are so many available seating options within the area. There are also many other spaces around the student center for lounging or getting work done, which I think is just so nice. I also love how there are multiple chain restaurants to eat at within Gatton, including Subway, Chick-fil-A, Panda Express, Auntie Anne’s, and Starbucks. I find it so convenient that they’re located right inside, giving you another food option if you're tired of dining hall meals. Additionally, all of the staff I've met within Gatton have been so sweet and helpful, and they are clearly very passionate about their jobs. Another one of my favorite spots to visit within Gatton is the bookstore, which is located right by the main entrance. I love getting school spirit apparel there, and the clothing options are actually super cute! In conclusion, I do not have any complaints about this space, and I highly recommend...
Read moreAs a freshman here at the University of Kentucky, the Gatton Student Center is a place that holds many important resources for me. One of my favorite reasons to go to the student center is the abundance of food options they have, not only do they have Champions kitchen inside where meal choices are changing daily. They also have Chick Fil A, Panda Express, and Subway for when you're getting sick of eating inside of the dining hall. The Starbucks at the student center is good as well but it has one downside for me they don’t take flexcash, which as a college student who is living on a budget it is not ideal. Besides that the bookstore is where I buy all of Kentucky gear, they have a variety of items ranging from polos to pajamas. Another thing I really enjoy is how relaxing it is. My favorite thing to do is whenever I have a break in between classes, I will sit near the piano and listen. Someone is always playing something in the student center and it is peaceful to sit there and finish up an assignment. Overall, the Gatton Student Center is very well balanced with the functionality aspect and while also being a very welcoming place. It really serves as a good foundation for the University...
Read moreAttending the University of Kentucky, the Gatton Student Center is such a nice place on campus for both north and central students. It’s on the north campus but it’s only a 15 minute walk from central and I feel like it’s the heart of student life. There’s so many resources and always something going on. It has everything you could need in one place. Whether it’s grabbing food, studying, hanging out with friends, it will accommodate all of your needs. It’s a very open space with so many areas for seating, study nooks, and places to just chill in between classes. It’s such a big place but you feel comfortable with the way they have it decorated with a modern student aura and relaxing seating, it’s less intimidating. Everything is super clean, organized, and welcoming. I remember I didn’t know where my exam room was the first day I was taking an exam and they were super nice with guiding me where it is. It has so many great dining hall options including champs (the main dining hall), Starbucks, chick fil a, subway, Panda Express, and more. It is a very nice, bright, open atmosphere that brings all...
